A 41k Y reg BMW 320i 2.2SE sold for £10,750, a 34k mile 2001/51 318iSE Touring sold for £11,500, and a damage repaired 16k mile 04 reg Audi A3 TDI 140 DSG for a whopping £17,700.   A pristine, black 24k mile 2001/51 reg Honda Civic 1.7 VTEC coupe was unsold for £5,800. An 02 reg 91k mile Golf TDI PD 130 estate looked about right at £6. And a 103k mile 2001/51 BMW 525d with leather looked like a wise buy at £9,700. As always the best way to look for a specific car coming up at auction or to pre-check a day’s sale is to visit

  Volvo estates were reasonable too, with £2,325 buying a 99k mile 96P 850 2.0SE 10v auto and £2,200 a 118k mile 97P 860 2.5 CD manual estate. A 146k mile 2000W BMW 523iSE auto Touring went for just £4,800. And, despite 120k miles, £3,075 wasn’t too much to pay for a 96P Galaxy TDI GLX 7-seater. When do you ever see three Mk IV Golf estates in the same auction?

X reg BMW 320d SEs came in threes: the 90k milers sold for £8,900 and £9,000, while the 81k miler made £9,800. A pair of W211 E220 CDI Avant Garde autos sold at £25,100 for the 24k mile car and £22,450 for the 50k miler. 4 year old 318iSEs are under £7,000 with a 94k mile May 2000W selling for £6,950.

However, a clean 170,000 mile 97P Jaguar XJ6 3.2 Sport (one of the last sixes) went £500 over my estimate at £4,000.
