Traditionally, this is a specification that is only available on much bigger cars, and a search on Autotrader of nearly 400,000 cars reveals less than ten diesel automatic cars, under 1,300cc.
  • Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Production-ready Bentley Bentaya revealed 9 Sep 2015 (News)
    CO2 emissions are 292g/km and economy is 22.1mpg. Bentley promises the Bentayga will be as capable off the road as on it. The car has been tested comprehensively in extreme environments, from muddy Cheshire fields to -30C snow in the Arctic and extreme desert heat in Dubai. Multi-mode air suspension can be raised for off-road use, plus there is a hill-descent control system to help with slippery downhill sections.
  • Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: BMW introduces new plug-in models 15 Sep 2015 (News)
    .  The plug-in hybrid 2 Series - dubbed the 225xe - will use similar technology to the BMW i3 with a three-cylinder petrol engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor driving the rear. Emissions will be just 46g/km and the driver will be able to choose between front-wheel, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with petrol, electric or hybrid powering the respective drivetrains.

    This year’s Goodwood Revival will mark 60 years of one of Formula One’s most iconic machines, the Maserati 250F, with one of the largest ever on-track collections of the car at the September 12-14 event. As many as 16 examples of the 250F will take part in the Richmond Trophy, which this year will feature 2.5-litre, front-engined GP cars of the kind that raced from 1954 to 1960.

    Called Service Care, Mercedes says it's a way of spreading the cost of servicing either through a fixed monthly sum or a single one-off, up-front payment. The Service Care plan covers all manufacturer-recommended service items, such as spark plugs, filters and brake fluid. It can be used to spread the cost of maintenance over any period an owner wants and it's transferable with the car when the owner sells it.

    Citroën is introducing a nautical new special edition of the best selling sub 110g/km CO2 emitting car in Europe. The C1 Splash will benefit from extra equipment like air conditioning, front electric windows and remote control central locking, as well as two funky new body colours exclusive to Splash.
  • A three-year-old Hyundai i20 'will be worth more than its rivals' 30 Dec 2008 (News)
    People looking at buying a car that will retain more of its value than its rivals are being urged to consider the new Hyundai i20. The manufacturer has cited predictions by used car market and industry analyst Cap, which show the model will lose less of its original list price than a number of highly-regarded competitors.

    Audi revealed its new A6 simultaneaously by satellite link in Berlin, London, Madrid, Stockholm, Paris and Turin last night. It's an all new car with the brave new Audi face first seen on the road on the new A3. The exterior is sleeker with a shoulder line along the side that makes the car appear even longer and lower than it is. Interiors are plush and ergonomic with the 'Muti Media Interface' screen neatly integrated into the dashpanel, slightly to the driver's side, as if it's an essential instrument rather than an afterthought.

    “The 1972 S is a brilliant specification with more power, the better gearbox and was the first road Porsche with the front air dam. This car had covered just 78,000 miles and all of the specific parts that usually rust are still there,” says Sadler. “These include the seal flange on the front slam panel that was a notorious corrosion point that was changed midway in 1973 to solve the issue and the oil tank with the alloy oil lines and the external filler that confused a number of petrol pump attendants.

    The timetable has been released for this year’s Donington Historic Festival so enthusiasts can plan their visit to the three-day historic motorsport meeting on 2-4 May.   • New Porsche 911 set to debut in Geneva 29 Jan 2009 (News)
    A maximum output of 435 bhp is offered by the vehicle's six-cylinder naturally-aspirated power unit, while the flat six boxer engine provides a "significant" increase in torque at medium engine speeds. Porsche concludes: "Another new feature is the optional lift system for the front axle which is able to increase the ground clearance of the car, at the touch of a button, for driving on bumpy surfaces or steep gradients ... by 30 mm." Earlier this week, the marque announced it won the 24 Hours of Daytona event held in Florida, with its team taking first place by the "slim margin" of 0.167 seconds.
