• Nissan Primera (1990 - 1996) - query for tyreexpert - tyre for primera 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
  I live in Wokingham and work in Farnborough, so anywhere reasonably close to either of these would be great. On my current front tyres, the outer edge on one tyre has worn to almost no tread. Do you think the car needs tracking? One more query - at the moment, the fronts only need changing. Should I put new tyres on the front or swap them all round and have the new tyres on the back?

  Hi there, I've been experiencing a pretty annoying screeching noise coming from the front left tire of my car. It's a bit strange – the noise appears when I start moving the car from idle, and then it comes and goes while I'm driving. Oddly enough, sometimes it just disappears altogether.

  Just had a service on my car. The dealer has advised that the Front Brake Pads have become cracked, the discs are showing a blue streak and should be replaced. The pads and discs where previously installed by Ford and i have done 5000 miles on them.

  SWMBO and I have a disagreement. Part of out property, an old shop front in serious disrepair, fronts straight onto the road puplic highway, where two of our neigbours park their cars. Parts of the frontage could possibly fall onto neighbours' vehicles. To make necessary repairs could take a while, and we are planning to remove the shop front and convert this part of the property to residential accomodation, so we were planning to leave alone at the moment, as it is at least watertight.

  The problem is that I cannot be without my car until next week though I do not need to use it for any journeys over 10 miles. I've been meaning to replace the car with something newer for some time (laziness!) so I'm not looking to own the car for anything more than another 2 months or so.

    Sitting at a round about during day light there was a land Rover visible on my right hand side, I could not see the front or drivers side of this car so it would be very easy to mistake this for an indication of the drivers intent to turn left , as it was they drove straight over. I could see the light was not flashing so did not assume it was indicating but I wonder if these lights are also the indicators?

  My wife told the driver she was on her way to the hospital and needed the car moving now and why didn't they park in the numerous free spaces around the immediate area. Sorry to ramble on but is it illegal to block someons access to their garage and if so can they quote the legislation.

  I am considering buying some steel wheels for use with winter tyres but am unsure whether the 15" wheels will fit (my preference). This model would have had 16" wheels as standard and is fitted with 278mm front brake discs, where the models with 15" rims as standard (1.4 petrol) has 257mm front discs. I'm hoping that the 15" would still fit my car, since they seem to have masses of clearance, but is that the case?

  Hi all, my golf gti mk 3 (97) has a problem with the front wipers, the intermittent works fine but wont work at all when i put then on constant, have played about with the stalk but with no luck, do i need to replace the stalk or is it possible to strip it down or something.

  Hi I've owned my '58' plate Qashqai for 2 months now and I cannot fault it. There is however one thing that concerns me - the front radiator grille. Having looked through my grille today the radiator is covered in bugs and obviously has not stopped stones going through to damage my radiator. As the car has only just ticked over 5,000 miles I am slightly concerned.

  Getting a noise from the LH front suspension not quite a clonk but quite noticeable when hitting a bump or taking off up hill sound like its coming from the spring. I've jacked the car up nothing 'moves' even when pulling or pushing wheel in all direction nothing obvious with wheel removed all joints are 'solid' spring is loose with suspension at full drop but not falling out just can move it a bit Strut top mounting no movement up down or sideways.

  I posted recently regarding SWMBO's 306 HDi estate's broken spring, which occurred as she started to manouvre the car out of the drive. There was a crunch and the broken end of the spring penetrated the inside of the tyre. The thing is, she is now paranoid about the situation. We've had both front springs replaced as per the advice from Screwloose (many thanks and may your fault codes cease to multiply), but the lady now says, "And what if it had happened while I was doing 70 on the motorway?
• Volkswagen Polo III (1994 - 1999) - 97 1.6 Leaky front passenger footwell 29 Jun 2008 (Forum)
  It started in the rear with both doors leaking. I managed to stop this by bringing all the door in closer to the car. This has solved the leak at the back but now I have developed a leak in the front passenger footwell. This is periodic and seems to be mainly when the weather is really bad. Water appears to be leaking over the door rubber at the bottom of the door as when you open the door you can see the door rubber has water running along it.

  Hi All, i hope some of yous can help me, my escort has a broken front bumper, i have tried nearly every car dismantler to try and find a coulor coded one in panther black but no joy, After speaking to a sprayer to get quotes on spraying a new bumper he told me to buy an insurance approved pattern bumper as they fit nearly as good as an original, what i would like to know is does any one know any companys that do insurance approved parts. any help is greatly appreciated.

  Hi All, I'm about to take my car for it's mot and am worried about a hole in the front valence. It's an area where it rusted through - i've so far rubbed it down and painted with rust inhibitor plus a coat of primer but have yet to actually fill the hole with the mesh and filler I have.

  G/F has had new tyres recently put on the front of her discovery. It now handles that bad that anything over 40 MPH sees it wandering that badly it feels safe to drive. Car pulls to the left on power and right when coming off power and wanders badly in left or right hand bends.

  Well the Shuttle is in need of a couple of front tyres, it has P6000s on the the front at the moment but I have always found them to be a bit soft and as such don't wear well, being a 2.3 auto and a 7 seater the fronts take quite a bit of punishment so I want something that is quite hard wearing.

  I have a 98 Ford Fiesta Ghia X 1.4 which I am looking to sell as I now have a company car. I recently had it MOT'd and it failed on a leaking o/s front shock absorber which will now need replacing. I am under the impression that you will need to replace the other front shock absorber otherwise the vehicle will feel imbalanced.

  Hello Every time I brake medium/hard there is a scraping/scouring sound from the passenger side of my car. Inititally throught it was the front wheel so I had the front pads/discs changed. This did not solve the problem, garage reckoned it was the front bearing so we changed this, but did not solve the problem.

  Suggested I could swap front and rear wheels for short term solution. Any suggestion on how much the camber adjustment should cost please? Am I looking at Main dealer prices?!? What would have caused it to be out by so much - car has signs of previous new front panels, so could accident damage have caused?
