  The coolant in the tank seems cool and I've released the cap on the rad and it's boiled over loosing maybe half a pint of fluid and the temperature gauge returns to normal.  The car is still under a Mazda dealer warranty and will be going back to the dealer on Friday.  Otherwise the car has been brilliant.  Forewarned is forearmed, any ideas chaps?.

  Hi, I'm a real no-hoper with cars, so any help greatly appreciated: My Fiesta has been overheating when driven further than 4 or 5 miles. The radiator stays cold even when the car is overheating. Also, the heater does not get really hot, just warm, even on full heat setting.

  My girlfriend's car (it is really!!) has a significant amount of emulsion present in the oil reservoir. What does this mean? It also keeps losing water and over heating, although there is no evidence under the car even when running, i'm assuming there is a leak in the cooling system but I'm more concerned about the oil reservoir at the moment.

  How long does your cars/van etc take to get hot? Had other cars that seem to get hotter faster, maybe i need a new thermostat or im getting soft!

  I have been getting random air escaping and or whistling noises (the whistle can get loud) that sounds like it is coming from the steering column / dash area. My initial though was the heating system but the car is not overheating or loosing coolant and I have not been getting steam / condensation problems. This one has me stumped. It seems to do it even when the car is quite cold. I was temped to put a radiator sealer in just to try it but don't know if that would have any effect.

  I was driving along and then the engine became "clunky" , smoke coming out exhaust BUT NO INDICATION OF OVER HEATING!!!! What could have caused it? Could it have been soemthing I did? is it reasonable that a car should do this after only five week driving? HELP!!!!!!!!! The car is a 1.9 TD Xantia(1995) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Basically my garage estimate £300 to £450 for the job depending on level of destruction. The car has never over-heated and i do not currently use it. What about doing the job myself? I am very amatuerish in this respect however! thanks martin

  Instead blocking water to get in, was blocking air to get out. And in my DS3, was the grommet were the windscreen washer for the back enters the cabin which was lose, for some reason.

  Doing some reading and research into the new electric Megane, and I’ve just been finding out about a QR code that some manufacturers put on the windscreen or drivers door glass to aid firefighters. In the case of the Megane, scanning the QR will tell emergency services that there is an isolator switch under the rear seat cushion that will terminate high voltage circuits, and that there is a port accessible through which the battery can be flooded.

  Mondeo passed its MOT today, same station as before though a different tester. The tester listed three advisories, two relating to two seperate very minor windscreen chips and one to slight play in the steering rack, with regard to the latter he said to me verbally during the test that this is quite normal, very minor and nothing to worry about however on the advisory sheet it says simply "slight play in the steering rack".

  Hi all, would be really grateful for any advice. Last week my windscreen washers stopped working- I can hear the pump working, the wipers moves as normal but there's no water. We think it may be clogged up with something and I wondered whether there was a) a method of flushing or b) anywhere I can find out how to drain the container that contains the wash fluid?

  Hi HJ,  my 2008 Ford Fusion 1.4 durashift has a broken heater box,  the cable mechanism on the box is seized and I can't get any air to come onto the windscreen or any warm air at all to the footwell. Ford say the whole heater box has to be replaced, a rare and complex job requiring considerable dismantling, maybe 2 or 3 days work.   Have you any experience of this task, and any idea what sort of figure I should expect from a main dealer for this work ??

• Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1996 1.3 Washer fluid not spraying properly 9 Jan 2009 (Forum)
  I am not sure if this is a lazy pump or its just a simple adjustment, my screenwash spray only covers half the windscreen where my dads does 80% of it. Is this an MOT failure and what is the fault likely to be? Both nozzles do it the same there dosn't appear to be any blockage because the water that comes out seems quite powerful, it just dosn't spray high enough.

  Whilst struggling to start the central locking was locking and unlocking randomly. The electrics have been temperamental as well i.e back windscreen wiper, sun roof, central locking despite the fuses being fine. Do I just need a new battery or could it be something else? Any views are greatly received. Thanks.

  Have had a slight problem with both of my wipers stopping for a second, always at the bottom of the windscreen, a quick flick of wiper stalk and hey presto they start working again. Not too fussed until recently when they now seem to be failing on every journey and the time to get them restarted is becoming alarming, it is now something like 15-20 seconds.

  I haven't got a clue how it got there; the door and window seem ok, the sunroof and headlining dont have any tell tale signs of water leakage at all. Very strange. Also, how on earth do you get that Rainex stuff off the windscreen? I know some people swear by it but I dont like it at all. The wipers chatter and you seem to be looking through an opaque bit of glass most of the time! I've tried the toothpaste trick but it doesn't work.

  Has anyone else seen it, it looks just like the others but has windows that you can see through, (as opposed to blacked out), it has wheel trims on steel wheels,(as opposed to alloys) the windscreen washers are black and scoosh water,(as opposed to being blue and light up) it doesn't have any stickers on it advertising bodyshops. And even better, I actually saw it before I heard its stereo thumping!!
