I've used the odd tank of premium diesel for years but since the VW scandel I've used more of it and for the last few months nothing but V Power+Nitro diesel. Over time a couple of things have changed. Firstly my DPF is not doing any active regenerations, none in 2500 miles, this is my third DPF car so I know the symptoms. -

Saab 93 TiD 2002 2.2 - EGR Cleaner spray. Snake Oil? 28 Feb 2014 (Forum)
132K miles, gently driven at 60 - 65 mph for fuel conservation, on cheap diesel. Got a few fault codes recently which are apparently typical of my boring driving style. I examined an identical but younger engine in the scrap yard, and I expect mine, like it, has a coked up intake, EGR valve etc. etc. -
Any - Most reliable car/cheapest to run to high mileage? 4 Apr 2012 (Forum)
So, any recommendations from back-roomers for a reliable, low cost car to run to 250k - all my journeys are motorway so low-stress on the car. Thinking 3 years/30k miles old, £8k-ish. My current thoughts (all non-diesel!): Honda Civic, 1.8 vvti Seat/Skoda 1.4 TSI 120ps Think I need to get about 45mpg, which since petrol is cheaper means not much increase in fuel costs..... -

Focus Tdci Running Problem 30 Jan 2005 (Forum)
2000/w focus 1.8 td di ghia, 89,000miles ,fsh ford only serviced 250 miles ago and fitted new battery leads . drives fine and then for no reason the diesel glow plug light flashes and the car stalls ,but rev counter stays where it is ,stuck in limbo!this happens at lower speeds 30mph ish restarts fine and drives off and does the same thing again usually a mile or so down road. have changed fuel filter and it has made no difference ,yet it will do 70 miles or so without a problem thinking the auction the car came from had put petrol in tank(only a 1/4 tank in car when problems started)i filled it up with diesel to full and this has inproved things but it still breaking down every now and then ,it usually jerks before it dies . i drove the car at 70mph the other day and it went fine but every now and then it popped like some rough fuel was going through but it didnt stall or the light stayed out any ideas ,was her indoors xmas present and she wont drive it anymore!!! -

Fully synth oil... worth it? 27 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Is it worth spending 20 quid on the fully synthetic oil like Mobil 1 and so on? They promise improved fuel economy and quieter running. Worth spending the extra or just going for Halfords cheapest diesel oil?
