  Freezing weather leads to increase in parts failures 21 Dec 2010 (News)
  Motorists could be hit by an unwanted repair bill of £408 this winter, as the UK's freezing weather makes some car parts a whopping 283% more likely to fail. The warning comes from specialist insurer, Warranty Direct, which analysed data from its 50,000 live automotive policies to reveal that ignition coils are almost three times more likely to fail between December and February than between June and August.

    Amidst the continued clamour for the Aston Martin marque, Historics at Brooklands is set to auction a highly original example of the DB4, widely recognised as being responsible for establishing Aston Martin’s reputation as a road car specialist, at its sale on Saturday December 4 th . Replacing the DB Mark III and costing £3,976 when launched - £900 more than its predecessor - every major component on the DB4 was new, and significantly, the lightweight ‘Superleggera’ tubular frame helped establish the DB4 as the world’s first production car capable of 0-100-0 mph in less than 30 seconds, and a 0-60 mph time of under nine seconds.

  Look out for stolen certificates, which have a different background colour on the Notification of Permanent Export (V5C/4) tear off slip on the second page, which looks mauve on the front and pink on the reverse. Legitimate documents are mauve on both sides. The HPI Check is the only one that includes a stolen V5 document check as standard, confirming the V5 registration document is legitimate and relates to the right car.

  Sir Jack Brabham dies aged 88 21 May 2014 (News)
  He started racing at 22-years old, and following a thoroughly successful career down under, Brabham made the trip to the UK in 1955 to take part in front line competition. His first Formula 1 win came in Monaco in 1959, as part of his back-to-back championship seasons. In 1966, when he won his third and final Formula 1 World Driver's Championship, it was in a car he designed and built himself, the Brabham BT19.
