  Am not sure what to do and would appreciate any opinions. I like the car but don't like the the idea of possibly being provided with what effectively might be a second hand car.

  I had a car raio fitted recently at one of the largest places doing this. A Sony radio was duly fitted but it wouldn't work on key position one. I.E you can only have the radio on with the ignition sitched on.

  Just had a note from my youngest boy - less than 1 yr old car parked at work on Friday - car park next door being relaid (unknown to him as he gets in at 7 am). Due to high winds the "grit and pink fluffy dice " form the relay has covered his and 20 other cars.

  The following post recently appeared on another site: “Tom Tom Go….Stolen Hi. I was stupid enough to leave my ttg cradle on the windscreen and the ttg in the glove box overnight in my car which was parked off-road outside my house in a very quiet village. It got nicked. The household ins wouldn’t pay out and neither would the car ins.

  I have an old workhorse Mercedes E300 TD Estate  W210. I do not have the handbook and was wondering what tyre sizes should be fitted to this car, and if mine are standard / ok ? I bought the car with budget Chinese rubber STK Sport 225/55/R16 99WXL  on front Accelera Alpha 225/55 ZR16 99W XL  on rear   They are all legal and passed MOT a few weeks ago, but the grip doesn't feel great, and I was thinking of getting some better quality tyres.

  Had two new tyres today and was told that the front pads are down to 4mm. The car is in for service next week. Should I get them replaced? If not how many more miles will they run safely for? Thanks H

  Hi, Some info please. Car needs front discs. Had a look and brake set up looks pretty similar to most modern designs. Question is when I remove the caliper is the disc then free to be removed or is any special tool required.?

  Hi, I always seem to be getting a greasy front screen from the inside. I have cleaned it using vinegar...it remains clean for a day then its greasy again. what could be causing this? the car in question is an Audi Coupe 1984 B reg. Could it be something to do with dirty heater vents or something else?

  Hi all. The headlights on a 406 come in 2 parts: The clear front and the grey plastic back that fastens to the car and holds the bulbs. The clear fronts are obviously different between MKI and MKII 406s, the new ones being totally clear. Are the backs the same?

  Dear Forum, While under the car, I noticed the front discs are past it, and I need to change them. In the past, I have had great difficulty getting rusted discs off - especially Fords! Does anyone have a good technique for doing this, preferably without potential wheel bearing damaging violence :-) Thanks

  Cost about 20 quid with balancing. Move the rears to the front on the same side of the car with the expectation that the thrum will be less noticable on the front or may disappear due to a different wear pattern. Any thoughtS?

  I have read here that some have had this on the rear, only with mine its def the front, one side. Now my thoughts are this, could it be the front anti roll bar bushes need changed? (If so a big job? alot of money?) Or could it simply be the front drop link bars ? Any thoughts or experiences would be great to hear, and much appriciated.

  My VW Polo 1.4TDi (year 2000) will not start. When i turn the ignition key the glowplug/heater light in the dash does not come on and the car does not start. When the light does come on the car starts. I have changed the relay. It also appears to happen more in the heat. This morning the car started in the drizzle but hasnt worked for 4 days in the hot.

  Is there some way of stopping this airbag fault, the indicator stalks in my car are brand new so that is not the cause of the problem, and i have heard about a wire under the seat but my car has electrically moving and heated seats so there is quite a collection of wires. Exactly what is it that should be done.

  My Girlfriends 08 C4 is a 1.6 diesel, having driven petrol engines for most of my life I was always familiar with the fact that having a diesel meant that when you started you waited for the Glow plug light to go out and then it started. However the C4 (which is a very nice car to drive) has no lights and starts on the key 1st time just like a petrol engine. Is this the norm these days (am I that out of touch with advancements in car engineering)? And how does it work? What happens to the pre-heating in these cars Many Thanks

  Hi, iv recently noticed a knocking coming from the front drivers side of the car. Now when im going over bumps/rough road im feeling the knocking through the drivers side footwell. Iv recently had the wheel alignment done on the car and the steering is fine and the car does not steer to one side when i let go of the steering wheel,  But the wheel itself is not straight when going straight and true.
