The history file includes correspondence from Jobson to the officers that drove the car in active service, as well as period photographs. It comes complete with working Police sign on the grille, Winkworth bell, air horns and spot lamps – plus a period VHF Pye Vanguard radio in the boot. -

London’s first autonomous cars will be based on Heathrow Pods 29 Jan 2016 (News)
The first autonomous cars to go into service in London will be based on the Heathrow pods, two-person vehicles that automatically drive along a track between Terminal Five and the business car park. They will be introduced in Greenwich. Three UK companies are to work on the project. Westfield Sportscars is leading the prject, while Heathrow Enterprises is developing software and Oxbotica is working on mapping, localisation and perception to enable the pods to safely navigate Greenwich.The pods are being developed as part of an £8m project called GATEway (Greenwich Automated Transport Environment). -

Sunderland site steps up Nissan production 31 Jan 2008 (News)
Some 800 staff are to join the team in order to meet Qashqai demand, with the Japanese motor manufacturer claiming that it has already sold 130,000 units since its release in March 2007. The vehicle, available in four and front-wheel drive, as well as five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission, helped push production at the site to 353,000 last year. Nissan adds that this makes it the UK's largest producer and exporter of automobiles, with the company hoping to hit the 400,000 mark this year.

The company states that its Mitsubishi Service Plan (MSP), which it launched in July, has pushed consumer satisfaction to "an all-time high". People driving the firm's vehicles can take out the scheme and visit any official dealer for a service free of charge if so long as it has less than 50,000 miles on the lock. The success of the system is down to a familial culture cultivated by the company's network, said Mitsubishi UK managing director Jim Tyrell.
Honda Accord reaches 30th birthday in UK 17 Dec 2007 (News)
