  Hi I'm looking to replace my current Volvo S60 D5 auto. I've recently started towing and could do with a the 4wd for "Green Ice" and slippery mud paths and roads. I've driven the Volvo XC70 which is expensive and I didn't like the way it rolled in corners.

  We have around £3,000 to spend (I know, maybe give suggestions on up to £4,000). Our other car is a Volvo 850 Estate, which is a bit dated inside, but we like it. We have considered another Volvo, a BMW 5-Series, possibly another Merc (with adjustable column) or a Skoda Octavia / Superb (that one I need to get past the wife!)

  s a bit like finding a plant that will flower all year and grow anywhere without any trouble? Does anyone have some suggestions please? I am considering a Subaru Forester, Volvo V70, Maybe a Honda HVR (is it?). A Skoda might be a bit small and scrape the ground? I have a Volvo 740 at the moment but it is a thirsty old thing now.

  Does anyone now of a supplier or can you supply 1/4*28TPI UNF bleed nipples. They are for girling front callipers on a volvo 240 but Minis and P6 rovers and the like used then. Regards Peter

   Then, hopefully, learn from other people's errors. My errors were when I bought a 4 year old 2007 Volvo C30 diesel.  The errors can be divided into two categories. The first category was stupidity.  I was looking for a four door, preferably automatic ( just like them).  However, I was taken by the looks of the C30 and convinced myself that two doors was O.K.

  Sometime it was clear who was bidding - company names emblazened on the fleece gave them away. Now looking at the prices of the Volvo V70 R-design and BMW 520d SE Business Edition (2009/09 or 2009/59 with less than circa 60,000 miles) on say autotrader and deducting an appropriate amount for the profit, I called a few BCA sites in respect of cars that had caught my eye, asking for a Guide Price.

  I recently purchased a new Volvo. When I signed the contract the car had only 2km on it. I was up sold on a fifth dimension paint/leather/everything protection. When I collected the car, there were now 57km on it and from the guys doing the protection on the car they had damaged it in 8 different spots.
