Volvo S80 autobox - volvotrier

I have a 2000 S80 2.9 SE auto with 60000 miles. After ten minutes engine stopped when I drive off the gearchange from first to second produces a "prolonged" click. This noise is not the same sound as a clashed manual gear but is more like a something slotting into place. All other gearchanges while the car continues are silent including any other first to second changes until I stop the engine again. The symptom at first only occurred when the car started from cold, i.e. once a day, but now happens as described after each engine stop. Any comments would be welcome. Also does anyone know of any fault code readfer that I could buy for this car please? I do have a Vadis CD for routine maintenance but cannot access nor analyse the cars computer. Thanks.
