  • Mazda MX6 Heater Problem 15 Jan 2005 (Forum)
All of sudent the temperature started to drop rapidly and at the same time the heater started pumping heat into the car. From that point on everything was fine for the rest of the journey home. I have an idea what the problem may be but not being very savi in this area would appreciate the considered opinion of the more experienced amoung you.
  • 200k Mondeo 19 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Firstly, would a Mondeo be a suitable replacement for my Focus, I realise the fuel costs would be higher, but things like heated mirrors and a heated screen would be nice at 6.30 on a Winter's morning. Also, any opinions on a Mondeo with this mileage - will it be due for expensive repairs or imminent failures? I assume that a car with this mileage will have few original parts left!

  • Any - Bubble Bubble, Boiling Brake Fluid Trouble. 8 Jul 2015 (Forum)
If boiling is started somewhere (assume in a rear wheel) soon it will happen everywhere in whole breaking system."  Can't see that. It'll boil locally, where the heat is. As the steam expands up the brake pipes, it'll cool and re-condense. If you kept driving and feeding more heat into the system eventually you'd heat it all up and I suppose the steam would travel the long, long, narrow, heat dissipating metal pipe to the master cylinder, but meanwhile, you've had a brake failure, and either:- (a) scared the s*** of yourself and stopped.

  • vw golf mk4 gt tdi (110) - over heating issue. 4 Jan 2016 (Forum)
hey guys. i have got a problem with my golf mk4 gt tdi 110. 1) car heats up and temperature goes to 120 degree. but if i drive slow, it come down to 90 degree. 2) heaters blowing cold air even if temperature is on 120 degree. 3) i flushed all the coolant and filled it in again, (( i heard, after you filled the coolant, close the radiator cap and let the temperature goes to 90 degree and then let it cool down. after that, open the radiator cap, the water level must go down so you filled more coolant in. right?

Hi, My wife recently complained about her car warming up too quicky. I had a look (no I'm not a maechanic but have been driving afew years with some usual experiences) and all seemed OK - it wasn't over heating etc. To be honest I was too busy to have it checked out, anyway couple of days later the temp went too high and 'smoke' started coming out.

  • Peugeot 106 1997 1.1 - MOT - CO 2nd fast idle, & idle speed too high 21 May 2014 (Forum)
ie would cataclean still remaining in the system at the MOT testing, help lower the CO) Tonight, I have taken the lambda sensor out and heated it up with a blow torch. It reads up to 0.8v, but I haven' wired it up in real life to get actual values when the car is running. Should I be overly concerned about the "003) Exhaust engine idle speed too high [7.3.D.2]" as Haynes says this is controlled by the ECU.
  • Scratched rear window - any solutions? 13 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The rear windscreen on my car has loads of scratches on the outside. It is as if the previous owner has cleaned it with the rough side of a Brillo pad, every week (I really have no idea how it can be so scratched).
