Mercedes-Benz A-Class - Rear brake discs - jemmadkds

At 3 years old with 15 thousand miles on the clock I would expect this car to pass the first MOT without major failure. My car failed due to badly corroded rear brake discs. This car had been serviced each year by the supplying dealership and is kept in a heated garage. Could it be the discs are not fit for purpose.

Rear disks are lightly loaded. You garage a 15k miles car - often wet - in a heated garage. Low miles = little action on rear disks. heated garage = accelerated rust on bare metal.

Standard wear and tear on low mileage car exacerbated by ideal conditions for rust... is my view.
