  • Nissan Note (2006 - ) - 07 1.6 demisting 14 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Great car but I'm fed up with continual windscreen misting. I dont want the aircon in winter (also fuel efficiency) as recommended. Anyone else experience this or is it peculiar to my car?
  • Honda CRV Nissan Qashqai Hyundai Kia Sportage etc. - You see a used SUV you say 7 Feb 2014 (Forum)
A nice drive would be appreciated - I do around 10K miles a year so a bit of comfort would be nice as well as a few toys for winter, heated windscreen, seats, remote starting (is that available anyway?!) 2WD is fine. I've been looking around and have quickly become confused with so many conflicting opinions but a few more are always appreciated.

  • Stupid vehicle fault reports 30 Mar 2009 (Forum)
I had to use a works van the other day and had a few minutes to waste, so I thought I'd look through it's fault log. Windscreen washers need filling. Windscreen washers filled. This book is designed to be used for when the vehicle is put in for repairs. It looked like the van had been taken off the road and sent to the workshop to fill the washer bottle.
  • TomTom One version2 air vent mount. Where to buy? 6 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Hello, I'm tired of the windscreen sucker for my TomTom One version2 falling of the windscreen and so I'm looking for a decent air vent mount. There is a huge amount of choice out there (from TomTom's own models to the cheap Chinese imports on eBay).

  • Sticking rear-view mirror on 2 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Hi Just changed the windscreen on my escort (mk4), and was wondering what I could/should use to glue the rear-view mirror back on. Ford seem to have used some sort of spongy black stuff when they stuck it on first hand. The windscreen itself has a black square to fix the mirror to, so I'm not going onto the glass itself.

  • The MOT 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Took the car in for its MOT on Saturday to a garage I don't normally use. The chap had it up on a lift and shone his torch all over, had a delve into the crevices within the wishbones etc and he passed the car wth no advisory notes.
  • Saving fuel: Car vs House 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
The point is that it is easy to make huge fuel savings in homes - far more than in cars. And my house (rural detached old house in the Highlands) still uses twice as much fuel as my car. What is the government doing about it? Well, public buildings are, almost invariably pretty warm.
  • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1998 - Heated rear screen not working 19 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Suddenly the heated rear screen in my 1998 Fiesta has stopped functioning, having checked the fuse which incidently was ok (replaced anyhow, incase this was at fault) the screen is still not working. The button lights up as if it should be on but the screen itself does not work.
  • Saab heated seats 17 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Have asked H-J about the heated seats on my Saab 9000, compared to other 9000s they take ages to warm up and then are not as warm. H-J has suggested that I let Saab specialist have a look due to risk of fire. However, I am used to working in safety critical environment (aircraft) and would appreciate ideas as to what might be the problem.
  • Audi A4 heater - not much heat! 19 Feb 2007 (Forum)
For no apparent reason and with no warning my heater (2000 Audi A4 Avant 2.4 petrol engine) was hardly working yesterday. The air-con aspect seems fine in so far as cold air can be produced, but even on a high heat only a little warm air was forthcoming - to be precise plenty of air flow but only a little heat. Engine water temperatures showed completely normal, header tank at correct level so nothing out of the ordinary.
