Daughter went to adjust the interior mirror, came off in her hand, along with a chunk of glass where it had been bonded on. I said ring autoglass, she decided and good for her to talk to the local dealersip in Bognor, within a day Fiat approved a free replacemnet screen. Has it happened to any body else??

Just make sure the replacement is a genuine spare, or at least one made by the same manufacturer to the same design. The dealer may well arrange the replacement but it's unlikely that they'll actually do the work.

Also, make sure they don't take it to Autoglass and claim on your insurance and pay your £50-70 glass excess ;) (without you knowing until it is flagged up in the future by a prospective insurer).

Glass delivered to dealership, fit next Friday, they will be unsighted on insurance docs, will post when completed. I am curious if this has happened to other owners, it was registered May 08.

Maybe a replacement should be sought that is not made from the same manufacturer, given what happened.

Windscreen replaced, make pilkington, with a fiat stamp, no charge as under warranty.
