  Motor manufacturer announces bio-ethanol trials 6 Feb 2008 (News)
  Trials of a new bio-ethanol fuel are to be carried out by Nissan from April 1st, the firm has announced. Bio-ethanol energy comes from soybean and sugar-cane extracts and cuts CO2 emissions, making it environmentally friendly. Nissan will test the feasibility of the E10 fuel, which contains a ten per cent bio-ethanol mix, from April 1st at a test site in Tokachi, Hokkaio.

  Nissan has disclosed its global sales revenue for the first half of the 2007 fiscal year. The Japanese car manufacturer has commented that its profits have increased by 11.7 per cent, selling some 1.816 million units - 6.3 per cent up on 2006's figures.

  Nissan Reduces Leaf List Prices By £2500 23 Jan 2013 (News)
  Nissan has cut the price of its all-electric Leaf by £2500. That now means that the car can be bought for  £23,490, or £239 per month. The price cut is part of Nissan's plan to make the car more affordable in its three main markets of  Japan, Europe and the United States.

  Nissan   could halt investment in UK car production unless the Government provides assurances over Brexit and potential European tax tariffs. Nissan's builds 500,000 cars a year in Britain - one third of the UK's entire car production – but the Japanese firm's chief executive, Carlos Ghosn, has said that new investment is in jeopardy, without reassurances from the Government.  Ghosn told reporters at the Paris Motor Show : “If I need to make an investment in the next few months and I can’t wait until the end of Brexit, then I have to make a deal with the UK Government.
