  We run a kangoo which we have owned from new. It has travelled 49000 miles on mainly short trips. I remember a previous car had a sudden and total battery failure at a filling station at about the same age and milage.

  Ok, I have a Transit Tourneo 8 seater (not a connect, proper transit) with the 125 tdci engine doing a school contract, 140 miles a day, 6 days a week (yes, SIX) and am averaging 38mpg.......(figure accurate over 15 weeks) My question is, as I have the run till march 2013 and only carry 2 pupils (only 1 from july) and am spending £110 a week on derv, should i change vehicles, as i hear a Ford Focus (and maybe a saab 1,9td or AR 156 JTD) could give me 60+ mpg I need at least 1600cc, at least 4 doors and a 2005 reg or newer.

  We have a 1999 1.0 Micra and it has started rattling at first start of the day for about 3-5 seconds. I think that this is the timing chain and after it has gone quiet the car runs OK. It has had its oil changed twice a year (as per HJ recomendation) and it has done 44,000 miles. Question 1: In view of the car's age is it worth repairing? Question 2: If I leave it to rattle, about how long have I got before something catastrophic happens and the vehicle breaks-down for good?

  A long running battle between my insurance company and the other drivers insurance company has been settled, after years and close to the court date the other side have admitted 100 % liability and paid up in full I note they have paid up the full amount of all claims ?

  Hi Facelift - Petrol When @ tick over there is odd noise what can only be described as water "burbling" as if running through pipes somewhere - increase the revs and its not noticble or has stopped. its allmost like putting your ear to a house radiator and listing to the water going through or better example the noise a washing machine makes when its emptying the water through the waste pipe at the back. but only very, very slightly.

  In the last week I have noticed the Reception on AM has deterioted so badly that I cannot listen to Radio 5 Live with the engine running, and hardly listen when the car is parked. The station is very weak and there appears to be lots of static. My previous Focus (Secondhand) suffered the same problem, but I lived with it! Has anyone any ideas?

  Pls help, My 2.0l automatic vw turns off after sum seconds when i engage it into reverse or drive in the mornings after i allow it steam for some min.and i can only move it when i engage the gear and step on the throttle immediately.and then would run ok,but when i take my foot of the break the car accelerates(i could say it wants to dash away)is that normal.anybody with a suggestion.thank you. slt and moved to Technical

  Sometimes takes a good 10-15 minutes to start up again, and then another 10 mins of revving to stabilise it. Am noticing that it is now dropping revs in 2nd gear too - although still runs a dream at speed or on a constant.

  I had service and timing belt replaced 3 months ago, now my emissions light has come on permanently and running sluggishly. i have oil in the spark plugs. took to garage and have been advised that i need piston ring(s) replacing at a cost of £600 +. The car has only 49000 miles on the clock! am i being ripped off?

  Hi All I've just bought an A8 4.0TDi which runs like a dream, but when its hot it refuses to start. When cold it will start every time. I'm guessing its a sensor somewhere on the case telling it not to start because it thinks its too hot but where?

• Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 98 2.0 Small breather from rocker cover 23 Jun 2009 (Forum)
  The hose its self is clear and i can blow through it. When it is connected to the throttle body and the engine is running there is no suction on it at the rocker end, even under high revs. I have tried to blow though it but it seems to be blocked. Just wondered if it was ment to be like that, or if it has a blockage some where. thanks for any replies, cheers.

  Hi Hope some one can help me ! Have a 206 2.0 HDi 51 plate ! AA Recovered yesterday just died on me ! starts perfect runs for about 20 seconds and stops ! Changed fuel filter, inline fuel presure sensor and another sensor on the fuel line ! also changed the Air Flow Meter ! Will start when left for 30 mins or so ! Have checked the fuel pump in the tank and thats ok !

  Crank sensor then failed in Feb and then battery died! Replaced battery and something keeps draining it flat, garage has run tests and in fairness aren't charging us due to recent outlay - all to them. Yesterday mentioned a possibility of the alternator but we're at the end of our financial limit and thinking of ebaying it for parts!!
• Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - Misfuelled car-would you buy? 12 May 2009 (Forum)
  Turns out it was misfuelled (petrol instead of diesel) on 2 occassions at 9K and 11K. On both occassions the tank was drained and filters replaced. The car's now done 43K and is running very sweetly. Would this knowledge be enough for anyone here to ask for their deposit back and walk away from the car? Cheers Steve

  No emulsion in the coolant so it looks as though it's not getting into the cylinders. Engine starts instantly as well and no smoke. Still getting 55-60mgp on a run. Is there anything else it could be?

  hi all and thanks in advance for any replys, my cars starts and runs at idle but when taken down the road bout 100 meters the engine light comes on and goes into limp mode it also cut out today and had to switch off take key out and back in b4 starts again. the only code that keeps reapearing is p1112 its been cleared 3 or 4 times but go down the rd and light on and same code again. also the fuel pressure is 321 bar. any help v much appreceated.

  hi , can anyone help. my 2002 mondeo 2.0l lx tdci has started to judder. mainly in fourht and fith gear. i have changed the fuel filter as i though that may be the problem since it hasnt been changed for ages but the problem still goes on. starts fine runs ok in slow speeds but uphill it splutters a little and the acceleration seems to be poor. no warning lights are coming on. recently i had to refit my back box with a clamp as it fell off wondering if this is causing problem. c

  Anyway, can't find much feedback, regarding the 1.3 diesel Astras, which are now sneaking into auction. They're not exactly bargains, but supposedly verrrrry low running costs, make them appealing. Has anyone any ownership comments. Or even just driving experience. It does, on the face of it seem a small engine - which apparently can be re-mapped - when they also offer 1.9 variants.

  Or is it a sealed unit and requires a whole new part? The lens probably was hit and cracked by a flying stone during a recent motorway run but hey these things happen. The CRV manual only refers to changing of a fog light bulb and even that looks complicated. Might have to bite the bullet and get done by a main dealer or a back street place.
