A long running battle between my insurance company and the other drivers insurance company has been settled, after years and close to the court date the other side have admitted 100 % liability and paid up in full
I note they have paid up the full amount of all claims ?plus interest?
my insurance company have forwarded my excess and you guessed it no interest added
its only a few quid but for one of the big insurance companies doing this day in day out must be getting quite significant sums out of the British public this way

One insurance company offered to let me pay my premium in instalments with interest costing 23% APR!!
I politely declined.
Maybe you can find out what APR your insurance company charges for such a service, send them a kind letter about the excess with a copy of some sales literature about the APR they would charge you and see what they say...

Its the standard interest rate you can apply to all courts summons

But insurance companies are so poor you know, they don't make any money at all, so they have to rip you off left right and center.
