astra 1.8 sri 17 Mar 2005 (Forum)
My friends 3yr old sri has developed a poor running problem...coughing,spluttering and flat spots. His local garage have had the injectors sent away for stripdown/clean, removed and inspected the inlet manifold and even tried another e.c.u. They say that it seems to be drawing in excessive air as it carries on running when the air filter inlet is temporarily blocked with a rag!!?? -

SL500 96; what is this part? 12 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I have a slight ticking noise coming from a small (about 2 inches across) unit mounted on a rubber mounting bracket in front of the ABS pump on the n/s inner wing; there is a 2 pin electrical lead running to it and two pipes; one running into the unit and the other out of it - there is a mark on the top with an arrow with the word MOT on it (motor?). I can feel the unit pulsing at the same rate as the ticking noise - any idea what it does? -

Millers Diesel Power Plus 14 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I know H.J. is a strong advocate of the above product for keeping injectors clean and adding lubricity to the fuel to prolong fuel pump life. Its use has been discussed on this forum sometime ago, but I have run a search and been unable to trace any threads on the subject. As I do a lot of short runs with my diesel, I am considering using this fuel additive and would appreciate any feedback from any users in the B.R. -
Rear Speaker Wiring. 13 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Can any BR tell me if the wiring for the rear speakers is in situ, on a Toyota Carina E basic XL model,or do I need to run new speaker wires to the rear. This model does not have rear speakers fitted as standard. I was told by someone that they normally run the wires, but then tuck them behind the rear trim, and only use them on the higher spec models where the rear speakers are standard. -
Fixed Penalties for Parents 3 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Newsreader said it would be based on the fixed penalty system that targets motorists. What next, speed cameras in the corridors to stop children from running in them ;-) rather than the Mr Bronson monstor bawling at the little darlings "you boy, do not run in the corridor." As always, tackle the problem with penalties rather than education. -
dunlop sp3000 - damage? 12 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I have Dunlop SP3000 tyres on my R75. One of the tyres has a slight ridge running down the sidewall (at right angles to the rim). This can be felt by running a finger over it. I've noticed that if you feel the other tyre sidewalls there are other slightly raised areas, effectively like hard spots which you cannot see but can feel. -

I used to run a Toyota Avensis Estate (1.8) that regularly gave a consumption better than the official combined figure of 36.2 mpg. I now run a Citroen C5 Estate (2.0 110 HDI) and cannot get close to the offical combined figure of 49 mpg (44 is about it !). -

Toyota Verso - Injectors replaced - car now won't run 14 Sep 2019 (Forum)
9 yo Toyota 2.0D, 120k miles. Always professionally serviced to schedule and faultless running until earlier this year. Back in April we had a fault code P062D come up relating to injectors. Our garage cleared the code (and the car appeared to run OK) and suggested we contact a local injector specialist. -
Sorry, it's a 'what car should I get' post! 1 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Car will probably be used for weekly shopping trips, occasional runs across the city, fortnightly runs to the countryside and a longer trip with motorway driving about every other month. Saved up 4k (to include insurance, parking permit, car seats etc) so we have about 3k to spend on a car (test drove a nissan note the other day as an example). -

CMax 2004 1.8 Petrol - Fault Codes P0106 & P2110 5 Feb 2016 (Forum)
First an 'Engine Fault' message appears which is followed by a 'Speed Limited' message. When I pull over and stop, the engine is running roughly and upon switching off, the engine runs on very briefly. The car will restart as normal and run perfectly, although sometimes only for a short distance. Googling flagged up what I thought may be a couple of potential issues, a split crankcase breather hose or disintigrating swirl flaps. -
ford focus tdci 1.8 2006 - very strange engine problem 7 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Engine runs sweet until you reach optimum temp then it starts to play up for e.g Stop the car, put it in neutral and soon as you lift the clutch it starts to sound and feel like its misfiring, it sounds like half the engine has stopped and the engine is jumping and shaking.but the weird thing is that if you just simply push the clutch back down then the engine runs sweet again-or if you dont push the clutch down you can turn the air con on and that makes it run ok aswel. -
Volvo C30 - Car juddering on return from servicing 11 Feb 2015 (Forum)
This would require a head-off decoking, which would take a week and cost ~£1000. Can anyone advise why a perfectly running car on replacement of an injector seal, would now run badly and require a further £1000 work?
