Over the last couple of years, there’s been a groundswell of enthusiasm for cars from the 1990s. These are cars that occupy a sweet spot for people of a certain age, largely in their thirties, looking for a car that they want to own for nostalgic reasons. Mum and Dad had one, or they wanted one when they were 17, but couldn’t afford the insurance. -

The second went to Richard Martin and Travis Cole who started the rally in a 1936 Alvis Speed 25 but ended up on a recovery truck on the first day. After a few days in a rental car, the crew purchased an unprepared Datsun 240z in Duluth and then set about having parts and spares delivered to each hotel they stayed at to create a rally car by the end of the event. Now a fully prepared rally car, the Datsun will be the car of choice on next year’s Rally of the Incas. -

Road deaths were climbing alarmingly, and the government needed to do something quickly. The end result was a new MoT test, which was originally designed to run for all cars more than two years old, on annual basis, with the first test taking place on the car's 10th birthday, and every year after that. Originally, the MoT test wasn't that complex, being more of a basic roadworthiness check, rather than something deeper and more detailed. -
