Mazda 2 2006/07 1.4 Petrol - Any good? 25 Jan 2015 (Forum)
According to HJ review it's an OK car - nothing stunning but better than the Ford Fiesta on which it shares a number of components and the chassis. Question - any owners out there care to comment on Mazda 2's from 2006/07 in 1.4 petrol guise? I would prefer an automatic but HJ says they can go wrong and manual is a better option. Any views on this? Not looking to replace Polo for a few months so no rush and would hope prices have dropped to £2.5k when I eventually take the plunge. -
Golf or Civic.. 20 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Excellent condition at £5k - being sold by a mate who i know has looked after it. ** The other is a Honda Civic Type-S GT 2.2 Diesel - 82k miles, again, excellent condition @ £4700 - though it's a private sale. Can anyone offer any advice between the two? I don't do too many miles per year (around 8k) so wasn't really looking at a diesel, but they're both very good deals so looking to hopefully go with one of them. -

Jeep Cherokee CRD KJ - ABS Light and brakelight on dash 10 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Hi , I am trying to fix the ABS on the above jeep , front bearing replaced including abs sensor as it was s/h it was better to include the abs this way and was guaranteed and resolved the bearing issue it had . The sensor has a resistance of .624 ohms and the rear sensor on the diff is also .625 or as near, this I thought was needing replaced as there is no speedo reading . -
A-M Spring Concours @ Ragley Hall 20 May 2014 (Forum)
What a delight to wander amongst so many desirable examples in glorious conditions, etc., etc., apart from that new(ish) Rapide S! The Works Team had one on display on their pitch. What an ugly mutt that is from the outside, although the interior is simply sublime. Was it modelled entirely on the Panamera? Certainly looks that way. -

2003 Renault Laguna 1.9dci - Starting problem 4 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I presume this is a fault in the injectors somewhere but is there any way of finding out which injector/s is faulty? Can they be overhauled? What would cause injector to fail due to a turbo fault? Could this be a immobiliser problem or something other than injectors? I'd appreciate any help offered -
Vauxhall Vectra B 1998 1.8 Petrol - Electrical Problem 25 Jun 2013 (Forum)
If fault was cam sensor would expect car to run but badly. Car runs like a dream, sweet smooth, acelerates well, seems desperate to get up into high 70's when being driven, revs don't seem to be restricted. BUT! for no reason and seemingly at random, engine just stops as though key turned off. Wait a few seconds starts fine, pulls away fine accelerates fine then Revs just drop off counter. -

Ford Focus Estate - Focus Mk1 Estate Tailgate Release Issues? 31 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Then they both stopped working altogether so again I though sod it I will just use the key as it is no big deal and I dislike paying main s****** prices. Then yesterday the wife was out shopping tried to open the boot with the key and it opened a little but the latch was not fully disengaging and the boot could not be opened. I tried it myself and it will open a little but the latch is still holding it. -
Pavement parking and threatening behaviour! 18 Jul 2012 (Forum)
As I approached my house just a 100 yards around the corner the car drove up and the driver, a gentleman in his late 50's, got out shouting abuse and pushing me for bashing into his car. Quite scary especially as this was in front of my 6 year old. I said back to him that he shouldn't park on the pavement, to which he said he was allowed to park on the pavement due to his blue badge ( I think it is hs wife's badge). -
Why are Hyundai and KIA's extended guarantees so successful? 31 Mar 2012 (Ask HJ)
I seem to remember that Daewoo used extended guarantees to promote their cars in the 1990s, that I don't recall was particularly successful at the time.... -
Cyclist this Morning 2 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Don’t worry, no contact or broken bones. On approaching a mini R/B on a narrow road this morning a cyclist (man in early 60’s, no helmet) started to undertake me but due to relative speeds on approach ended up riding alongside me. The road was narrow and there wasn’t really enough space for him to do so, consequently he was really close to the side of the car. -
dexron 111 with castrol z - oil compatabilaty 5 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I have a hilux surf and auto box runs using dexron 111 oil.Now because its my everyday car for work and towing trailers and a large caravan around europe,.I would like to know weather replacing the dexron 111 gearbox oil with the synthetic castrol z oil is possible.Would i have to have the box completley flushed before changing the oil,or can i just drain the old oil out of the gearbox sump and refill with castrol. As i know some dex 111 oil would still be in the tourque converter, would this matter.I would like to do this because the surf is clocking up around 15ooo miles of towing plus all the weekend run around stuff, and i think the old girl deserves the best oil to keep her going.i,ve had the surf for 4 years and 73,000 miles and never missed a beat. She,s got 169000 miles under her bonnet and still going strong,i just think if there are better oils on the market the surf deserves it.can anybody give me an answer.cheers
