What do these Vauxhall Vectra fault codes mean?

I have fault codes u2105 (no comms with ECU) and u2139 (no comms with steering column). Any advice on locating the actual problem, as it needs resolving for the MOT?

Vauxhalls seem to have these problems quite a lot.

It could just be a wiring problem (check all earth wires, especially at fuse box)

Then you my need to check the CIM (column interface Module, behind the steering wheel.

Then check the BCM (body control module).

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
