Museum marks Croft's motor sport half-century 27 Aug 2014 (News)
Throughout the Sixties and Seventies, Croft was home to the Daily Mirror Trophy Meetings and eventually grew into a site for testing and development of new cars, as well as a place where drivers could go for training and instruction. In 1967, Croft got its big break when it began to host rallycross events, using part of the tarmac race circuit combined with a new, specially-created loose-surface track. -

Jaguar Land Rover has beaten its own record to enjoy it’s best year yet in terms of sales. Total cars delivered in 2013 were 425,006, an improvement of 19% on last year – an excellent all-round performance. Predictably, the strongest area of growth in the Asia Pacific and China, with sales up a whopping 30%. -
No Need to Renew SORN From 16-12-2013 9 Dec 2013 (News)
From 16-12-2013 it will no longer be necessary to renew a SORN every year as long as you remain the owner of the car. But if you sell a car on a SORN, the new owner will need to register it to himself and declare his own SORN. The SORN does not pass from one keeper to another. The change, announced today by Roads Minister Robert Goodwill, is part of a package of measures to get rid of unnecessary red tape. -
Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG join forces 25 Jul 2013 (News)
Replacing the the current V8 and V12 powertrains is a massive investment for an independent car manufacturer without a larger technical partner. Given AMG's's excellence in this department, and with the back-up of the might of Mercedes-Benz, it would seem that Aston Martin now has the resources to move on from its current power units, which are very loosely based on Ford technology. -
Massive DSG Recall in China 23 Mar 2013 (News)
The recall comes less than a week after state broadcaster China Central Television featured Volkswagen customers in China complaining about abnormal vibrations, loss of power and sudden acceleration in cars equipped with the company's dual clutch transmission technology. The company is recalling vehicles with the seven-speed dry clutch version of its DSG dual clutch transmission, bearing the cost for replacing defective equipment and upgrading the software, it said in a statement. -
Classic Mercedes-Benz: a very good investment 13 Mar 2013 (News)
The MBCI is one of five indices created by The Historic Automobile Group International. The others are: the HAGI TOP index, a representative measure of 50 rare classic cars; the HAGI F historic Ferrari index; the HAGI-P historic Porsche index; and the HAGI EX-P & F index, which provides a measure excluding the Porsche and Ferrari components. Bedford OB Nostalgia Event at the Vauxhall Heritage Centre 13 Jul 2009 (News)
As well as the OB gathering, owners of all Bedfords and other historic commercial vehicles are invited to attend, while there will be a specially reserved parking area for owners of any classic vehicle, be it a bike, car, van, lorry or – of course – bus. Owners are encouraged to simply ‘drop-in and drive’ – there’s no fixed time in which vehicles need to be on display, and the Vauxhall Heritage Centre, accessed via the GM UK staff car park entrance in Park Street, will be open from 10am until 4.30pm on 16th August, so they can stay for as long, or as short a time as they wish. -

Top bid was a provisional £825. It was closely followed by a black 89G Golf GTi 3-door with 142k warranted which bid to £575.
