Citroen Berlingo 19 plate - 4 years old, full main dealer service history and fresh MOT in March 23, 92,000 miles, 1.5 diesel engine failed on motorway and needs replacing (AA diagnosis). Any idea what the common issue is with these engines? It is my neighbours van and I haven’t had chance to speak with him directly (I got the info from his wife) as to the full diagnosis. -

ANPRS - not always correct? 3 Mar 2008 (Forum)
We came around the corner and there was an array of marked police cars, numerous police officers and for some - that dreaded ANPRS van? Now this is the interesting bit?. ?.I am insured, I have no points, I have a full & valid UK licence and my car is MOT?d, taxed & tested. Having all of these you would think the ANPRS would not flag me or my vehicle up? -
mobiles and driving 4 Dec 2001 (Forum)
A poor earth somewhere I think, but also a major problem for anyone behind! The van has a phone number on it, so as I am passing I stick it in the mobile (ensuring a very good distance between me and traffic in front) and ring the number. Leave a message on the answer phone " the van on the M62 has no brake lights" and carry onto work. -

Another sneaky fine ! 13 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Well, not quite, but it feels like it. Had my SIL's Blingo van booked in for MOT on Monday. He brought it round on Sunday and informed me it needed a back box on the exhaust. I knew there was no point in presenting it as it was, 'cos of the emissions test. As it was short notice, I took it to one of the Nationals on Monday morning. -
Noisy Peugeot 406 Aircon Compressor 28 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I've got a diesel 406 HDI, 2000cc, Y reg, 170,000 miles, that my wife drives during the week while I use a van for work. About three months ago I heard a loud `clicking' from the engine that we isolated to when the air con was engaged. I took the car to the guy that does our MOT's, his advice was that we needed a new compressor "run it till it breaks properly(!) -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Berlingo crankshaft sensor location 24 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Can anybody tell me where the Crankshaft sensor is located on a 2004 Berlingo Multispace 1.9 HDi? Better still a diagram would be much appreciated. My van starts fine but if yu rev above 2.5 krpm it cuts out, the fault code initially said the camshaft sensor which was replaced, now the fault code is for the crankshaft sensor. I need to sort this soon sa the MOT is up. -
Ford Transit - Help with independent dealer 21 Dec 2013 (Forum)
On 5th December this year, I went to view a van in the neighbouring village, as I want a van to expand my window cleaning business - I currently use ladders attached to a Clio but it's time to stop using the ladders now, move to the high reach poles system. -
Renault master 2.5dci 120 54 plate - Warning lights in accessory mode 17 Mar 2023 (Forum)
When the ignition starts, the lights go out. This has just happened after I've picked the van up after mot, where it had electric window and light cluster contacts cleaned up after minor faults. Is this a coincidence or symptomatic of another issue like low battery or ageing alternator? -
Peugeot 207 SW - Written off whilst at Garage 17 Jul 2021 (Forum)
My partners daughters 207SW was written off by a well known garage chain whilst in for a MOT. Their mechanic was out on a road test when he was hit by a delivery van, which was on the wrong side of the road. The car has sustained considerable damage to the off side front wing. And the garage has agreed to deal through their insuarance. -
Mercedes Benz - 1993 2.5 Scrap value for old 310 crew bus? 6 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I have an old Mercedes Crew Bus which I need to dispose of as it's failed its MOT for really bad underbody corrosion in 14 places. It's a 310 panel van converted to a 13 seat crewbus. It's legal until next Friday, so I was planning to run it to a scrapyard. Trouble is, I've no idea what scrap values are and don't want to get conned. -
1.3CDTi Vaux Combo Van, 05 reg - Coolant loss mystery? 12 May 2015 (Forum)
Topped up, checked following day after his 15 miles each way trip to work, and it was empty again. Looked all over the engine, no sign of a leak. Inside van is dry so not the matrix. Its running fine, no change in normal temperature, warning lights etc. Had MOT last Wednesday, so while it was over the pit, they ran the engine and looked all over - nothing. -
Mercedes Benz - Bought a dog 7 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Because of this the van could not be locked without the alarm going off (at least I assume this is why) and now the immobiliser has tripped and I can't start it. All in all it hasn't gone well. This vehicle was sold with an MoT and drove through the auction room under its own steam so I assumed that it was roadworthy. -

Any - Oldest original exhaust? 18 Mar 2016 (Forum)
I am amazed that a bog standard Ford exhaust can last so long. It doesn't seem long since the T**** vans were rattling around the counties with parts carefully engineered to expire about a month after the 3yr guarantee. Any advance on 16yrs? (not counting aftermarket SS exhausts) -
