It's also a CX25, which means it comes with the 2.5-litre fuel-injected engine out of the CX GTi, so not only is it comfy, it's also surprisingly fast.  So what's not to like? Well, by the vendor's admission, it has some cosmetic issues, while a quick glance at the MoT history shows advisories for 'slight corrosion' and evidence of past welding.

Power and fuel economy have improved with the sDrive18d now delivering 150PS with claimed economy of 65.7mpg and 114g/km of CO2. The xDrive20d has 190PS but more usefully 400Nm of torque and manages the 0-62mph sprint in a healthy 7.6 seconds.

    The Tourer estate car versions will be offered, powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine with Multidrive S continuously variable transmission (CVT) for fuel efficient, low emissions performance. The cars will be shipped from the UK at a rate of 750 vehicles a month with production commencing in July. The Toyota Avensis was introduced in 1997. By the end of 2010, more than 1.8 million Avensis vehicles had been built – all at Burnaston – for sale in the UK, Europe and other markets worldwide.

    Its 2.4 litre GDI Space Wagon stablemate is reduced in price by £2,000 to a new retail price of £17,995. With 16% more power, better fuel economy and lower emissions, Mitsubishi's Shogun Sport 2.5 Turbo diesel models remain the same price starting at £18,995. The petrol version remain unchanged starting at £22,995. Similarly the Shogun gains specification for 2002 with no price increase.
  • New Hyundai Coupe Gets It Right 15 Sep 2001 (News)
    Transmission options are either a six-speed manual or a four-speed H-tronic automatic. Tyres are 215/45 R17. No fuel consumption or emissions figures have yet been released. The other engine at launch will be the existing 1,975cc four with 137bhp at 6,000rpm and 133lb ft (180Nm) torque at 4,500rpm. Zero to 60 takes 9.1 seconds and top speed is 126mph.
