  • Auction Prices Fall as Dealers Clear Decks for March 28 Feb 2001 (News)
I also saw quite a bit more variety than had been usual over the last month and I think these two trends are set to continue. Proof came in the form of a tidy 89G Nova 1.3 four door that sold for £400 and a 126,000 mile 90H Orion 1.6LX got gone for £225. 92-93K is becoming the £1,000 cut-off point, with a 124,000 mile 93K Cavalier 1.8iLS 5-door selling for £825 and even an 84,000 mile 94M Escort 1.3 5-door was knocked down for just £850.

Over the last couple of years, there’s been a groundswell of enthusiasm for cars from the 1990s. These are cars that occupy a sweet spot for people of a certain age, largely in their thirties, looking for a car that they want to own for nostalgic reasons. Mum and Dad had one, or they wanted one when they were 17, but couldn’t afford the insurance.

  • The MoT Files: Why the test is so important 6 May 2014 (News)
