£8,600 bought a 52k mile 2001/51 C220 CDI Avantgarde and top bid for a 91k mile 2002/52 C220 CDI Classic estate was £7,625. Audis, on the other hand, are still making mad money with no less than £20,700 paid for a 5,277 mile 2005/55 A3 S-Line Sportback TDI 140 DSG. While the wrong engine (2.5 petrol) killed an 05 Nissan X-Trail Sport that sold for £12,450.

The 25k mile Y reg 3.0 Quattro was so scruffy it needed about a day’s worth of valeting and another day with Chips Away.
