Transfer of ownership 10 Nov 2005 (Forum)
If not I will do it now, but if they need proof of insurance it may be a couple weeks before it is covered. I wanted to wait until I sold my current car before transferring the insurance as I want the cover on the car I am selling for test drives etc. Not driving the new car would also be incentive to get rid of the old one quickly, rather than hanging on for weeks and weeks hoping for that little bit extra. -

My perfect car 23 Oct 2002 (Forum)
The S2 sounds like a car that would be worth trading in my 20V Coupe for, and there are a few around the £7K mark (although they all seem to be in Scotland). Well outside my normal price bracket, but I started listening to Radio 4 at the weekend, so perhaps I'm getting too old for bangers. -
Virtual Buyer 22 Nov 2001 (Forum)
I've put my old car into a local auction (a large operation) and accepted the bid reached. That was 2 weeks ago. On contacting the auction they tell me that the buyer hasn't provided a cheque and the car still graces the auction yard. -
Skoda Octavia vRS - Help me decide which car to get next year. 16 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Hi Guys, long time reader of this website but I dont think Ive posted on here before. Anyway I'm saving up for a new car, well trying as I seem to keep having to spend money on what I currently have. It is after all a 16 year old car. My current car is a Skoda Octavia VRS converted to run on LPG. So I'm looking for something similar, I do roughly 10,000 miles a year and do quite a few short journeys so I would guess this rules out diesels? -

Upto £8k for a new'ish car 28 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Currently I’m driving around a 10yo Vauxhall Agila 1.0l which is leaking all over my dad’s drive way and is not exactly a decent car but if it were not leaking it would probably be sticking around until it completely falls to bits. I’m a 19 year old male so Insurance is something I have to keep an eye on although I do have 2 years no claims from having my own insurance on a provisional license. -

Dummies question. No insurance - test drive a car 27 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Some people have told me that any test drive that you do from a new/used car dealer means you are covered by the dealer's insurance but, um, that sounds more like an old wives tale than legal reality? So what do you do if you do not have a car yourself, and hence no car insurance, but you wish to go and test drive some cars? -
