Focus C-Max 2.0Tdci? 30 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Very tempted by the local Ford offer of a new C-Max 2.0 Tdci Ghia in silver at £12995. Reports seem mixed -good build quality and nice to drive. Lots of room and well equipped and should be nippy. On the down side the cabin is a bit narrow and I'm told economy isn't great. Has anyone got one of these? Whats do you think? Cheers -

Renault Clio 97' - Noise 14 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Please help, Recently my car has been making a noise which I can only describe as the sound of wind blowing through the car. The faster I drive the louder the noise gets. I have made sure that the sun roof and all windows are closed properly. Could it be that it is blowing through the engine or exhaust system? Please help. Desperate blonde! -

peugeot 206 - delays???? 9 Dec 2004 (Forum)
It's not often I drive my wifes Car. Peugeot 206 51 plate. But I have noticed that there is a slight delay when you operate the Horn or Headlamp flasher, meaning that when you press the horn its sounds approx. half second later, same for the Headlamp flasher. -
Fines for breakdowns and accidents 3 Dec 2004 (Forum)
we are always being told that traffic hold ups cost the country money, so I propose that if the accident was caused by poor driving or the breakdown caused by negligence, then a hefty fine should be imposed on the driver/owner. This money would be paid to the DVLA who would then lower the cost of the Road Fund Licence for the rest of us! -
stealth car (not) seen this morning 19 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Actually it was a metallic mud coloured Lotus Elise but here's a thought. We were driving into bright low sunlight with deep shadows. All I could see of it was the rear numberplate reflected in my headlights. If I hadn't had my lights on, I may not have seen him until his brake lights came on, and when the outside temp is -1, that is not good ! -

Oil Change - any car 2 Aug 2004 (Forum)
My mate has driven less than 1000 miles in his car over 18 months because he has use of a company vehicle. He drives it at least once a week, to normal temperature, on a 12-15 mile round trip. He's not changed the oil (10/40 mineral) in this period. How urgent would you say an oil change is? -
death trap cars 23 Jul 2004 (Forum)
ViewItem&category=10376&item=2484298292&rd=1 He admits it has "no brakes" but reckons that's ok cause "he drive's home very early in the morning when there are no cars on the road" you can even see a child seat visable on the front seat... does'nt bear thinking about. -
Theory test 16 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Sorry if this has come up before, but it's passed a few minutes for me : http://www.dsa.gov.uk/mockpaper/theoryintro.htm# The DSA allows you to take a mock driving test online. Done the first one, 100%. Will try the other later. Didn't have a theory test back in the days I took my test, so it's interesting to see this. Lee. -- Lee MINI adventure in progress -
Which 4x4 Estate 13 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I'm in the market for a new or nearly new diesel car (not SUV) with 4-wheel drive. At the moment I can only seem to see the Audi A4 Avant Quattro that fits the bill. I like the look and feel of the Mazda 6 Sport AWD and the Subaru Impreza WRX but they don't come with a diesel engine. -
ford focus auto 2 Jun 2004 (Forum)
i have a 1.6 zetec auto, 13 months old, this is my first auto and i'm not to sure on how to tell if the unit is 'slipping'and just want to be sure before taking it to the dealers. when slowing at a give way junction or turning a corner and then applying the throttle again the revs increase before the speed picks up. is this normal for an auto. in every other driving condition it seems fine thanks -
Foglights in the rain 20 May 2004 (Forum)
Sorry if this has been done to death before: Followed a car (BMW 320) down the sliproad onto the M3 at Southampton this morning (no mist whatsoever, just rain). As he pulled onto the M3 in the driving rain at 60mph, he flicked on his foglights, making it all but impossible to spot his brakelights going on...presumably he was trying to be safe. Just thought I'd share that one with you. V -

Had a good drive today in a demo Nissan Primers 2.2 DCi (138 bhp). Excellent car and seems very economical. How much should I pay for a 2004 model with 3000 miles? Dealer kindly let me take it home for my wife to try and will bring it back tomorrow. -
Mondeo 24 Mar 2004 (Forum)
People buy either small executives or MPVs. Mondeo man can't afford to lose £200 per week on depreciation, however well it drives. -

Worst Drivers in the World 23 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Where do you backroomers find the worst drivers in the world and why? I nominate China, particularly Beijing - too many people , no driving tests and millions of death wish bicycle riders mixed in with everything else on M25 type roads.Life is cheap and as far as I can tell they have no such thing as insurance. I will now retire and time how long before THe Growler nominates Manila -
rallying, far from the pits 23 Nov 2003 (Forum)
just enjoyed another superb session on C4, and doesn't rallying knock F1 into a cocked hat. This is real, on-the-edge driving where, literally, anything can happen, as opposed to the processional bordom of F1 where only the occasional pit drama or weather upset adds flavour. And with rallying you can equate to the cars.. gimme more, please!
