• Mazda 323 - Knocking sound on braking 20 Jun 2006 (Forum)
  Hi All, Wondered if anyone can shed any light on this before I take it in the the Mazda dealers (ugh)? I've got a 99/T Mazda 323 which is making a slight knocking noise on braking at low speed (between around 10mph until the car comes to a stop). It seems to be coming from the front and makes a duh-duh-duh-duh sound (the sound is consistent and even, the noises are evenly spaced).

    It isn't the same as tyre or road noise. The dealer told me to take it to Mazda for a second opinion and the tech said he had never heard a noise like it in 20 years at Mazda and first thought -wheel bearing; then said it sounded like wind noise through a missing grommet after checking what the selling dealer had said.

  However the mazda is lower in insurance and a little cheaper to buy, the interior looks a bit better quality and the speaker system looks better specd, which i would probably eventually update in the civic. I have read that cabin noise could be an issue.

  Evening all, I drove a new Mazda 6 diesel for a month in the summer and loved it. I can't afford one, but I've been very temped by a high spec, low mileage (30,000), full dealer service history 2012 version that I can afford. Now please talk me out of it.

  Anyone help a new poster? Wifey has a Mazda 6 2008 petrol, loves it, until... The CD changer jammed, it ate 6 cds, and will not spti them out. We called the dealer (COOP)  who said, ah yes it's a common fault. (easy to fix I thought) What's involved?

    Mazda insisting that wear happened due to delayed service!!!!!! I have spoken to 2 independent mechanics who both dispute this and suggest there is something more sinister going on. HELP!!!

  I have owned my Mazda 6 Diesel TS2 (136) for approx 18 months now with 140,000m on the clock. First problem I encountered was the dreaded diesel pump change which I have just finished paying for (£1500 in total) but now I have a new fault and was just trying to find some advise or previous experience on this as I have trawled the internet and still non the wiser (i am a woman though!)

  Hi, Just picked up a used new shape mazda 6 2.5 SL with 18" alloys and 13,000 miles on the clock. On the journey home I noticed that the speedometer didn't tally with my Sat Nav (speedo suggested I was doing 10mph faster than the sat nav on the motorway).

  The noise got worse & I booked it back into the Mazda garage - it was on my way there that the oil pump failed & bu**ered the engine. The rest (as they say) is history...... Could the original problem have been the oil pump all along & the garage had just failed to diagnose it correctly?

  A week before the job, dealer calls and says Mazda aren't happy with the photos (this is almost 3 months after they have been taken) asking to bring the car in for new photos. Car gets new photos in August. Early September I give Mazda UK a call, saying that I am being messed about.
