Toyota Yaris (1999 - 2005) - Garage keep finding new faults - now another £700? 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
The specialist diagnosed a fuel pump failure and a new one would be over £700, but they offered to fit it for free. There was clearly no issue with the fuel pump when the car went into the garage, and their argument is that the ongoing overheating problems have hastened the failure, which has been exposed by the work they've done to date, but that they didn't cause the failure, therefore I should foot the bill for the part. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2005 tdci Head CRACKED!!! w pics 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
So this morning he presents me with a cup of green coloured liquid and said its contamination, look at those tiny little particles in the fuel, he said they were going to reprogramme and drain the tank (after they had already done this once). I questioned that the fuel filter was at fault as surely it was its job to stop these black particles reaching the engine, anyway i left him to it and said i would be back at 4 to see what the problem was. -
Landrover Freelander - Consumer Rights Act 2015 10 Feb 2017 (Forum)
From the AA van I called the dealer and asked if I shold get it revovered to him and he told me I could take it to any garge, so I had it recovered to a Jaguar / Landrover specialist that I have used previously. After much diagnostic work and repairs including a new fuel pump, new ECU and fuel injectors, all costing me over £3,400 the car was back on the road. Twice we offered to give the car back to the dealer for him to look at and repair and twice he refused, saying that my garage had caused the fault. -

Toyota - Estima 1996, 2.2 3CT-E engine. Diesel fault. 29 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Denso computer 89661-28580 (anyone got the pin-outs?) I seem to have about 11.5 volts going into various pins on the ECU. I have 9 volts to the fuel cut-off solenoid. I have 5.4 volts at both wires on one of the 4 electonic valves on the pump that control fuel to the injectors on the pump. Engine earth seems OK. I did a diagnostic test - (the engine had not run since the ECU had been disconnected for a night). -

Yesterday we switched cars and I put half a bottle of redex into the tank incase the issue was with fuel being ran to the dregs, or quality of the supermarket fuel.
