While a 5k mile 04 reg Audi TT 3.2 DSG was marginal at £24,400 compared to the current level of broker discount for a UK supplied new one.

  A Glacier Green 2001X 728i was a bit lumpy at 102k miles, but did not show them in its condition an looked like a very good buy at £9,600 provisional. In Hall 2, a 21k mile 2002/52 Nissan X-Trail 2.2DI Sport sold for £14,000. New shape Mondeos were cheap at £7,600 for a 15k mile 03 reg 1.8LX and £4,850 for a 59k mile 2001Y 2.0 LX estate. A sought after 27k mile 03 reg Volvo V70 D5 SE auto estate sold for a sensible £18,400.

  Exotica included a 47k mile 2001X Porsche 911 996 Carrera convertible with hardtop and satnav which reached a provisional £38,750; a privately imported 73k mile 2002/52 Mercedes CL500 which sold for £36,400; a 21k mile 02 reg TVR Tuscan 4.0S which made a provisional £31,850; and a 59k mile 2000W Maserati 3200GT auto which bid to £24,000 provisional. In Hall 2 a 55k mile 02 reg Nissan X Trail 2.2DI Sport 6-speed with 6 CD multiplayer and parking sensors but a scratched sill and screen bid to a low £12,100, but a 7k mile 2003/53 Berlingo Multispace Desire 1.9D bid to a whopping £6,950.

  Sharp buys to my eyes included a 137k mile 99V Xsara 2.0HDI 90 estate for £1,725; an ultra reliable 57k mile 99T Nissan QX 2.0 V6 SEL for £3,575; a 102k mile 2000V Mercedes E200 Elegance estate for £6,750; a 68k unwarranted 99T BMW Z3M roadster with a hardtop for £13,400 and, in the 72 car BMW section, a 69k mile 2001Y 320dSE Touring for £10,750 and a 46k mile 2000W 523iSE Touring for just £9,250.

  Today’s hot little numbers included Black Horse 17, a repossessed 49k mile unwarranted 2000W Honda Integra R for which there is a huge demand among the Fast and Furious Max Power brigade. This one sold for £8,350, while another quick Jap, a 45k unwarranted 99T Nissan 200SX sold for £6,350. Coming up behind them, with a mere 140bhp, a sweet black 25k unwarranted 2001X MR2 sold for a level £11,000. Among the part-exchanges, 51k miles brought a 99T Honda HRV 1.6 part-time 4wd down to earth at £6,100; an 8-seat but independently imported 52k mile 96N Previa was sensible money for a minicabber at £3,675; and an 83k mile 99T Mondeo 1.8 Zetec was just a little more than expected at £2,625.

  In the fleet sale, Group 3 insurance 2001Y and 51 reg Micra 1.0S models with PAS were stopping at provisional top bids of £3,300, and an 8 month old 02 stalled at £3,500. (New ones are down to £5,300 as Nissan clears out stocks to prepare for the cute 2003 model, launching mid January.) But Group 2 insurance Corsa 1.2 16v models are solid as a rock. A 47k mile 99T Club with s/r and PAS was reserved at £2,650, yet sailed straight past to sell for £2,950.
