Automatic 'Smart City' Braking Standard on new Mazda CX-5 8 Jun 2015 (News)
On sale this spring, the Mazda CX-5 model range will feature an 18-strong line-up with prices starting from £21,395 and rising to £28,795 (OTR). The Mazda CX-5 will be offered with a choice of two engines with three power outputs (2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G 165ps petrol and 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D 150ps or 175ps diesel), manual and automatic transmissions, 2-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and four equipment levels - SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav. Four petrol and six diesel models will come with 2-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive will be available for eight diesel models. Prices for 2.0-litre petrol versions start from £21,395 (OTR) for the CX-5 SE-L and rise to £23,995 for the CX-5 Sport NAV. -

The new Jaguar F-Pace ‘crossover’ SUV comes with Ingenium 2.0 litre petrol diesel or petrol engines, rear wheel drive or four wheel drive, manual or 8-speed ZF automatic transmissions: or 3.0 litre V6 petrol or diesel engines with automatic transmissions and four wheel drive only. The line up starts with the 2.0 litre 180PS/430Nm Ingenium diesel rear wheel drive 6-speed manual at prices from £34,170, emitting 129g/km CO2 and averaging 57.7mpg combines in the ECDC tests. -

Ford Model A sets new world record 10 Jun 2014 (News)
An Australian classic car owner has set a new world record for driving across Australia and back again in a pre-WWII car. Rod Wade, aged 71, and his team covered 5592 miles in a 1930 Ford Model A in a fundraising challenge for Kidney Health Australia. The driving duo set off from Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on 3 June at 10am in a 1930 Ford Model A armed with a bottle of water from the South Pacific Ocean and a bucket of Gold Coast sand. -
Dashcam Catches Red Light Crash 6 Feb 2014 (News)
Police were quickly called to the crash scene and when told about the SmartWitness in-car camera requested that a copy of the video recording be produced as evidence. When they saw the vehicle CCTV they said it was clearly proof of careless driving against the Skoda driver. The Skoda driver, a Russian national who was fully insured, was subsequently prosecuted for driving without due care and attention in court in Glasgow where the crsh occurred. -

A car that has it origins in an amalgam of technologies from the front-wheel drive Truiumph 1300 and the rear-wheel drive Triumph Dolomite . Effectively, the 99 had an overhead cam 1,850 Dolomite-based engine sitting on top of a 1300-based front wheel drive gearbox. The SAAB 99 they find looks all right from a distance, but up close it’s a mess with manky door cards and not running right. -
Original 1969H Mini Being Auctioned for Prostate Cancer Research 8 Nov 2016 (News)
There is a lovely story behind the Tartan red Mini. It was originally bought by Mrs Millie Properjohns who wanted to learn to drive at the age of 60. Millie finally gave up driving in 2007 at the age of 98 and the car passed on to her daughter who continued to cherish and maintain it to a very high standard, reaching 33,000 miles. -
Audi unveils hydrogen powered h-tron quattro concept 11 Jan 2016 (News)
The h-tron quattro will carry up to four passengers and the cabin is decorated with OLEDs - organic light emitting diodes - with three paper thin touchscreens displaying the instrument brinicle, infotainment and battery status. The futuristic SUV also gets Audi's latest automatous driving tech, with a new video camera, ultrasonic sensors and laser scanners, which will allow the h-tron quattro to drive unaided in slow traffic. It will also be able to park itself. Audi hasn't committed to a launch date of the concept, but the technology could start filtering through to production models from 2017, with the new A8 an obvious candidate. -

Europe’s fastest EV on display at EcoVelocity 28 Jun 2011 (News)
The Bluebird Electric, Europe’s fastest electric vehicle, is set to feature at the EcoVelocity festival on 8-11 September at Battesea Powerstation. EcoVelocity celebrates green motoring and the future of eco driving. The Bluebird Electric is a high performance electric supercar which holds the UK land speed record for electric vehicles, currently 137mph. Don Wales, the grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE, will be driving it at the EcoVelocity event. -
