  Guys I bought a used Mazda 323 from a local dealer. Its V plate 1.5 and has got 38k on the clock with Mazda dealer history stamps untill 23k miles. I changed the radiator water the other day and I'm going to change the oil and oil filter.

  One of the rear calipers on our old ('90) Mazda 323F GT has begun to weep around the handbrake actuator. This is either a 5p O-ring or a whole new caliper - having had to replace the same caliper on my even older Audi a while back suggests the latter, but I'd welcome any inside knowledge.

  My 2000(W) Mazda Premacy 1.8 petrol has a frustrating habit of not starting (mostly when you are in a hurry!). The immobilser light is off, engine turns over but does not catch. Waiting approx 10 mins seems to solve the problem and it will start as normal.

  Hi, I read honest johns road test of the mazda 3 and well, thought, that is it, time for a 1.6 TS Mazda 3 Auto. But, I discover, even though it has been out for ages, there are NO autos in the UK! No automatics is what I have been told. And now I am told they won't be available until dec 2004 maybe.

  Hi Everyone, just after some advice. I have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 2.2D that has been serviced at the Mazda main dealership since ownership, the car has only done 67K and is currently a mechanical write off due to a seized engine caused by oil starvation, cost for repair £7500 The car suffered a failed turbo in Feb and was replaced by Mazda Main dealership at a cost of around £2100, and at every service I always paid for an additional engine oil flush.

  It's done 23K and had service at Dealers at 12K last May and I changed oil and filter at 18K with Mazda DPF Dexelia. Now last few weeks misfires all the time if you go slow enough in second gear and take it easy. I can even tell in these last few weeks it's not running right up to 2000 rev's. In traffic it's awful feels like it's off on a cylinder.

  We have had our Mazda 5 for 8 months now and it is mostly brilliant. Drives well, flexible interior works great and the sliding rear doors are fantastic when getting kids out of car seats in tight car park spaces. The only two quibbles with the car are the fairly minor one of the gearing in 5th which makes me look for a 6th gear to change up to on the motorway, but given the fact that the rest of the car is so good I can live with it.

  The car is also slightly shorter but much more roomy than the Mazda and has a lot of hidden safety kit and other features that the Mazda doesn't have. So, is it a sensible idea? Surely it will have lost most of its depreciation, whereas a Mazda will lose a fair bit in its first year.

  After a second opinion we were told by both mechanics that thus is a common problem with Mazda diesel engines and due to a manufacture fault in these cars, diesel is thrown back and contaminates the oil eventually wrecking the engine. We're told by Mazda that it would cost £9,000 to replace the engine!

  There are five of us, and this year we have rented small seven seaters and was given a Kia Carens (twice) an original Mazda 5 and the facelift Mazda 5. Both Mazdas were streets ahead of the Kia in terms of space, performance, refinement and economy. The facelift Mazda has minor revisions to the dashboard and bumpers.

  Mazda also stated that the oil was so diluted it was above the mark, and there was a strange noise from under the bonnet. Without giving you all the goings on since, we are now 2.5 weeks later, Stoneacre have done some work and so have Mazda in order to fix the car (at no cost to me).
