In addition to revised engine ECU settings, this ‘Eco’ pack employs special measures to optimise aerodynamics, and incorporates low rolling resistance tyres and ‘taller’ gear ratios to return some outstanding fuel consumption and CO2 figures: 62.7 mpg in the combined cycle (an increase of some 5 mpg on the standard 105 bhp 1.6 MultiJet) and CO2 emissions of just 119 g/km. This latter figure will assist in Fiat Group’s pledge to be the leading manufacturer in terms of weighted average CO2 levels. And leading vehicle auction specialist, BCA (British Car Auctions) is predicting a rise in nostalgia for 80s cars as a result. Classic concept cars celebrated at British Motor Museum exhibition 29 Jul 2019 (News)
Visions of the future from times past include the 1970 Crompton Leyland Electricar. Styled by Michelottis and based on standard Mini parts it was powered by 24 lead-acid batteries driving two 3.9hp (2.9kW) motors. It had a stop speed of 33mph and a battery life of 40 minutes. Also on show is the Triumph XL90. -
Brands hatch success for MG Car Club 5 May 2017 (News)
Jonathan Smare won the first of two Iconic 1950s races, and pole sitter Robin Ellis made sure he ended the weekend on a high by winning the second race after falling short in the first. After giving up the lead in race one of the Peter Best Insurance MG Cup due to a fuel pick-up problem, Tom Diment’s fortunes changed in the second outing as he crossed the line to claim victory. The Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Championship and two of BARC’s Championships were also a part of the action in Kent, providing spectators with even more variety and entertainment. -

It was first owned by a gentleman who spent a lot of time in Japan leading to the Mini spending much of its early life in storage until being purchased by the current owner in May 2005. Another no reserve car is this right hand drive 1972 FIAT 500L, complete with a 650cc engine upgrade. Reportedly rust-free, it has a recorded mileage of just 33,000. -

The epidemic is down to a lack of funding - less than 10% of the annual road tax bill is spent on road maintenance, leading to a short-term fix culture, with 23% of councils admitting they usually temporarily fix potholes. Barons Jaguar Auction Set for 29th May 3 May 2012 (News)
This beautifully-presented caer was originally built for export to the USA, so is left-hand-drive. It was repatriated to the UK in 1991, then comprehensively refurbished by leading XK specialist Guy Broad. It has since been used only sparingly on the roads in Britain and France. Estimate: £45,000-£55,000. A 1968 MkII 3.8 Sports Saloon in the sale is a truly unique car because it is equipped with an engine block that never actually made it into production. -
