Tomorrow's Anglia Car Auctions’ August Bank Holiday sale is its biggest one yet, with 160 lots going under the hammer. As well as a number of cars from the recently uncovered Porsche 'barn find collection' there's a wide selection of classics to suit all tastes and budgets. -
Lotus on the mend? 1 Aug 2013 (News)
The news will be a welcome relief to Lotus, which over the past few years has suffered a series of embarrassments. There was the 2010 Paris Motor Show where the firm unveiled not one, but five new cars, all with groundbreaking technology, as part of a five year plan. Unsurprisingly those ambitious plans haven't made it to fruition, although the manufacturer is still working on one of those cars - the new Esprit - pictured above. -

Upgrades - as well as the new body - included a five-speed gearbox, power steering and Harvey Bailey handling kit, all of which might put off the originality freak, but which makes the car a whole lot more usable in the real world - and it did reflect in the less than top-end price. Other cars that scored well included a nicely restored 1975 Jensen Interceptor III Mk4 at £23,500, which is a solid performance for a car on its way up in the market place. -

The replica’s vendor and designer, Tony Claydon, owned and competed in one of the original cars in the 1980s, so took the moulds in case of accident damage. The car is offered complete with a full set of moulds to enable a new owner to take the car into limited production or just to ensure the supply of panels in the case of over-exuberance at a track day. -
