    My father has a 1.6 petrol Meriva 08 Automatic. • Renault Clio 1 Petrol (1991 - 1998) - 97 1.2 - Turns over but will not start 11 Apr 2009 (Forum)
    Any help or suggestions would be welcome - I have read a number of posts but most seem to be a problem with running rough or taking time to start - I cannot even get that far. {removed repeated words in subject header that automatically get included when you make your selection from the compulsory drop down menus and fill in boxes}
  • Would you buy a new car? 24 Mar 2009 (Forum)

  • Renault Scenic (1996 - 1998) - 1998 1.6 auto- engine won't start. 26 Jan 2009 (Forum)
My Father has a 1998 1.6 Renault Scenic automatic. It is kept in a garage. Twice in the last three months it has not started and had to be recovered to the local Renault dealer. Both times it had stood overnight in the garage. The dealer has now decided that the UCH (universal control hub?)
  • Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - Coolant life 21 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I have just disposed of my 10-year old 2 litre Renault Mégane RXE automatic (and for the francophobes, it has covered over 90,000 miles and, apart from the usual service consumables it has needed one wheel bearing and one ignition coil in that time. Last month it went the length of the Alps to Provence and back on half a litre of oil and still had the original exhaust system and rear brake linings).
  • Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 06 - electrical issues 25 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I have recently bought a used 2006 Renault Laguna Initiale and I have found a couple of minor (yet niggly) problems. The automatic headlight adjusters don't seem to work, they are set in the lowest height ( leaving little visibility in pitch dark). The rain sensitive wipers don't work, they are stuck on one speed. The fan on the climate control blow like a mouse flatulating (only now an issue when i want the car to heat up quickly).
  • Hyundai Trajet MPV (2000 - 2008) - 04 2000 Engine will not start 18 Jul 2008 (Forum)

  • Honda Civic Hybrid UK (2006 - ) - rear washer and other oddities 3 Mar 2008 (Forum)
In fact, apart from the engine cutting out when stationary in traffic, as a passenger, I wasn't aware of being in anything other than an ordinary automatic. Was this just a sign of the battery charge being low or is the change of power source not especially obvious?
  • Small Car, must have armrest (really...) 15 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Without it I get a really bad shoulder 2. Diesel also a must. Haven't got the ability to drive a petrol without revving it to death 3. Automatic is a 'would be nice' 4. Seats must be okay for a 6' person - I find the Micra seats too small to support my shoulders I know this is a long list for what most people would define as a shopping trolley, but I'm hoping someone can throw some decent cars into the equation......

  • Renault Clio 1.4 RT starting problem 3 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I have a Renault Clio 1.4 RT on an 'N' plate. The car has single point injection and is an automatic. I came to start it yesterday and it did not fire up, although the engine did turn. Usually when you turn the ignition on you get a relay click under the bonnet, the fuel pump buzzes and the fast idol speed udjusts itself on the throttle body.
  • Computer Related Questions - Volume 127 16 May 2007 (Forum)
However when I go to shutdown and press 'Switch Off' I am told that it is now safe to switch off manually which I have to do; where as previously the switch off would be automatic. Have had a look under Power management etc but cant find anything. Also have noticed that some of the graphics eg 'Find' are different - Cant remember that pooch being there before????. Is this all to do with SP2?
  • Escort Encore 1.6 braking problem 25 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I really hope that someone is able to help. I purchased a 1997 Ford Escort Encore 1.6 Automatic from a dealer on Wednesday and so far I have nearly crashed twice! It is fitted with continuously variable transmission (CTX) which itself takes some getting used to if you are not used to it but on 2 occasions now I have gone to brake only to find the car accelerating which isn't a very nice feeling.
  • Octavia 140 DSG v vRS 170 23 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I am looking at an Octavia estate as replacement for my company Mercedes E270CDi Elegance automatic which has been superb but which carries a large tax liability. I am seeking good performance, some comfort and space and decent handling in a very tax efficient package. I have discounted A4/ C Class/ 3 series etc on grounds of cost.
  • Y2000VW 1.6SE Golf Mk IV NVH at 2,750rpm 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
For instance, I notice a slight jerk of the gearshift between power on/power off when in gear, which might not be normal (or perhaps I've been driving quiet automatics for too long). Is this "character" or something else? Thanks.
  • Small horse van required 23 Nov 2006 (Forum)
What we require is, ideally, a converted van with space to carry 2x 16.2hh horses plus tack. As this is a wish list, the vehicle should be automatic; have a walk through to the rear from the cab; it should be not much wider than a standard van (due to the track-way it will be parked in); and be no higher to get in to than a Transit / Movano (my back problems are getting worse!).
