2003 Renault Laguna 1.9dci - Starting problem 4 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I presume this is a fault in the injectors somewhere but is there any way of finding out which injector/s is faulty? Can they be overhauled? What would cause injector to fail due to a turbo fault? Could this be a immobiliser problem or something other than injectors? I'd appreciate any help offered -
Vauxhall Vectra B 1998 1.8 Petrol - Electrical Problem 25 Jun 2013 (Forum)
If fault was cam sensor would expect car to run but badly. Car runs like a dream, sweet smooth, acelerates well, seems desperate to get up into high 70's when being driven, revs don't seem to be restricted. BUT! for no reason and seemingly at random, engine just stops as though key turned off. Wait a few seconds starts fine, pulls away fine accelerates fine then Revs just drop off counter. -

Ford Focus Estate - Focus Mk1 Estate Tailgate Release Issues? 31 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Then they both stopped working altogether so again I though sod it I will just use the key as it is no big deal and I dislike paying main s****** prices. Then yesterday the wife was out shopping tried to open the boot with the key and it opened a little but the latch was not fully disengaging and the boot could not be opened. I tried it myself and it will open a little but the latch is still holding it. -
Pavement parking and threatening behaviour! 18 Jul 2012 (Forum)
As I approached my house just a 100 yards around the corner the car drove up and the driver, a gentleman in his late 50's, got out shouting abuse and pushing me for bashing into his car. Quite scary especially as this was in front of my 6 year old. I said back to him that he shouldn't park on the pavement, to which he said he was allowed to park on the pavement due to his blue badge ( I think it is hs wife's badge). -
Cyclist this Morning 2 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Don’t worry, no contact or broken bones. On approaching a mini R/B on a narrow road this morning a cyclist (man in early 60’s, no helmet) started to undertake me but due to relative speeds on approach ended up riding alongside me. The road was narrow and there wasn’t really enough space for him to do so, consequently he was really close to the side of the car. -
dexron 111 with castrol z - oil compatabilaty 5 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I have a hilux surf and auto box runs using dexron 111 oil.Now because its my everyday car for work and towing trailers and a large caravan around europe,.I would like to know weather replacing the dexron 111 gearbox oil with the synthetic castrol z oil is possible.Would i have to have the box completley flushed before changing the oil,or can i just drain the old oil out of the gearbox sump and refill with castrol. As i know some dex 111 oil would still be in the tourque converter, would this matter.I would like to do this because the surf is clocking up around 15ooo miles of towing plus all the weekend run around stuff, and i think the old girl deserves the best oil to keep her going.i,ve had the surf for 4 years and 73,000 miles and never missed a beat. She,s got 169000 miles under her bonnet and still going strong,i just think if there are better oils on the market the surf deserves it.can anybody give me an answer.cheers -
HJ - Daily Telegraph 14 Jan 15 Jan 2012 (Forum)
The paradox of all this though is that used cars are still overpriced if this really is a car's economic life. Sad really as the rusty bodywork problems are long gone. P S Anyone know of a list of cars with chain cams! (EOR - End of Rant) -
Chevrolet Cruze - Time to change the trusty Mondeo... 10 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Been a while since asked for some advice, but could do with your expertise! I've still got the trusty X-Reg (one of the first Mk 3's) Petrol Mondeo, it's done 77,000 miles now and still starts and runs no problem, had a few electrical issues recently (Automatic Windows, central locking and now the boot opening!) I also don't like the Tax band much these days. -

Skoda Fabia - Water leaks on Skoda Fabia. 25 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Seems to me if you are going to cure this problem by re-sealing the bottom of the doof seal, you are only trapping the water in the door panel and causing more moisture to corrode the panel. If you see lots of little bubbles along the top of the door, it;s too late. You;ve got metal maggot in your doors. -
Peugeot 607 (2000 - ) - 03 2.0 Replacing remote tyre pressure sensors 13 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Rather like a key the TPI has to be coded to the car and the Peugeot garage say that would be a minimum charge of £40 Of course we all know that the actual job will be 35 seconds - connect a lead, press a couple of buttons and job done, but apparently the software is only available to Peugeot dealers so - once again - it's a captive market If you dont have it done then every journey starts with a warning that there is a TPI missing. So that;s your choice - £110 extra per TPI or a warning each trip. Unless anyone knows a garage weher these things can be re-programmed? -
Have U picked up any hitchhikers in the past year? 3 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I have been inspired to write an academic article, provisionally entitled 'Hitchhiking: There Is No Movement Without Automobile Rhythm' which seeks to investigate the interaction between drivers/ their cars and the hitchhikers (all of whom share the road). I am looking to talk to drivers who have picked up any hitchhiker(s) over the past 12 months about their experience (or maybe they know a friend, colleague or family member who picks up hitchhikers and can pass this request on). If you have 10-15 minutes to spare over the coming week or two (any day/ any time), I would love to speak to you. -
Some budget tyres can take extra 14m to stop 23 Dec 2010 (Forum)
Apparently tyres need not pass a wet stopping distance test in the UK! (Of all the H & S we incorporated where you can't make a cup of tea in an office without seeing warning labels on the kettle and jar of coffee whitener, they forget to legislate safety with tyres?!) It may be available to view again - the same edition (3/5) also highlighted fake service history booklets and cloned stolen motorbikes. -
16 year old dies in collision with 4X4 [Read Only] 2 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I live in a rural area and have witnessed these 'off road' vehicles complete with bull bars driving at speed down narrow country lanes whilst secure in their large 4X4's. Just to provide a balanced view, here is a comment the same page from the poor lad's mother "I know the details of the accident and the driver of the 4x4 could not have done anything and my heart goes out to her.
