• Peugeot 106 Retrofit Powersteering? 15 Jul 2007 (Forum)
  Hello all, Our spare car is a 1998 Peugeot 106 1.5D. It is low mileage and in excellent condition, so we have no intention of selling. However, my daugher who uses the car occasionally finds the unassisted steering too heavy. Is it possible to retrofit powersteering from a later car?

  Hi Just bought a Peugeot 106 1.5 TUD Diesel, the problem I have is when I drive the car over bumps or pot holes I can feel a knocking through the steering and I know it is definately coming from the drivers side, could it be the wish bone gone or the tie rod ball joint.

  All, I've been searching the net for information regarding the peugeot 205 XA GL as if it is a van or car. I've not found any info anywhere to give me the info i require, even parkers won't tell me. Could someone point me in the right direction or even if someone knows about this particular model that would be even better.

  Following on from last postings had the car fixed, the battery was re charge. This made me lose the use of my radio. Does anybody know the factory code for a peugeot 306 1.4 lx 2000 w reg. Or know where i can get it de-coded cheaply. For all those who suggested an earth fault you were correct and thank you.

  Please help I have just bought a peugeot 406 2.0 glx automatic 52 plate and this evening it has come up with this message anti theft device failure. the car will turn over and not start. is it a simple problem or is it really broken needing a lot of money spent on it. any ideas would be greatfully received# #Thanks Sara

  Ive just bought a peugeot 806 1998 car that comes with 2 keys but no remote key and fob. my dealer says he can supply me with a remote key for around 200.00, which seems a bit dear. does anyone know where i may get them cheaper than being held to ransome by dealers ?

  It's not often I drive my wifes Car. Peugeot 206 51 plate. But I have noticed that there is a slight delay when you operate the Horn or Headlamp flasher, meaning that when you press the horn its sounds approx. half second later, same for the Headlamp flasher.

  I've just bought a Peugeot 106 Diesel which drives beautifully except it seems to make me ill! Every time I drive it I can feel my chest tightening and I feel queasy. I've checked that the tailgate seals tightly but am wondering if there is anything else I can check.

  Vehicle: Peugeot 406 1.9 diesel turbo Estate Hi Guys, I've started to notice a 'whooshing' sound on acceleration. It sounds associated with the turbo although when stationary revving the engine there is no noise.

He seems obsessed by the Peugeot 807 and as I have no experience with people carriers I thought I would ask you lot for your opinions. BTW he has seen a model for £23,500 which he seems intent on getting but it seems a lot of money.

  I think they had become aerated and failed to open the valves leading to non starting. I have seen similar problems reported with Rover 800 and Mondeo engines. Not much on Peugeots though. Anyone else suffered the same problem?

  I have a 4 door Peugeot 306 the doors all lock when I use the key in the drivers door, but when I use the key to lock the doors from the passenger side the other doors lock acept for the drivers door. If I use the central locking remote the doors lock and unlock stright away.

  Has anyone experience of the Peugeot 307 with the new 1.4HDI engine? It would seem too small for such a heavy car, but at £900 less than the 2.0 HDI, it might be worth looking into especially if its like the new diesels ford are using in the Focus Ghia.

  Hi. I have a 2005 Peugeot 1007 that is dead locked possibly with a dead battery. The key will not electrically or manually open the doors. I have seen suggestions that you can jack the car up to remove the engine cover and connect jump leads to the starter motor to start it or get the electrics working and open the doors.

  The garage that has diagnosed the problem and is undertaking the work is the same local garage (not a Peugeot main dealer) that changed the timing belt six months ago. Since the timing belt was changed the car has covered 7,000 miles. Have I just been unlucky by the fact that this nut has sheared, is it a known problem with this particular Peugeot engine or, could it be something that the garage did or did not do when they changed the timing belt six months and 7,00 miles ago ?

  Seems only to affect cars built from April 1997 with DHY (not DHX) serial number engines" So I (or the garage) will have to find an engine without this fault. But I do not know which engines will fit my car. Is it possible to take an engine from a Peugeot 406 (DHX), or the older Peugeot 306 D8A? Does these 3 letters identify a unique motor or are there different DHY motors?
