Vintage Rolls Royces in Barons 28th July Auction 23 Jul 2009 (News)
Barons’ sale at Sandown Park on July 28th is headlined by an elegant selection of Rolls-Royces and Bentleys from the 1920s to the 1990s, including two splendid Rolls-Royce 20hp Landaulet Limousines - a 1927 example (estimate £43,000-£47,000) and a 1929 version (£30,000- £35,000) and a very stylish 1967 Rolls-Royce MPW Convertible (£35,000- £45,000). -
Barons Jaguar Heritage Auction, Sandown Park, 19th April 9 Apr 2011 (News)
The sale features ‘big cats’ for all tastes and budgets, including a 'timewarp' 1989 XJS coupe which is reported to have covered just 19,800 miles from new (£6,800-£7,500), and a fine selection of MKIIs. Other models include a highly original 1968 420G which has been in the same ownership for 39 years (£6,500-£8,500). Other marques are also available… Recognising that enthusiasts also appreciate other marques as well, Barons has some fine alternatives to Jaguars in the classic and sports car section of the sale. -

And a very fine 1986 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit created a huge amount of interest, storming up to £11,500. A 1985 Jaguar XJS-C which had been stripped down to its component parts and then rebuilt to better than original standards by its late owner, at a cost of over £60,000, also powered its way over top estimate, and achieved £8,910. -

JAGUARS TO ROAR AND ROLLS-ROYCES TO SHINE AT SANDOWN PARK 17 May 2009 (News)
Two early entries include a pair of stately 1920’s Rolls-Royce 20hp Laundaulet Limousines,with original coachwork. The 1927 Park Ward-bodied example, registration number RR 8426, carries an estimate of £43,000-£50,000, while the outstanding 1929 Hooper-bodied car is estimated at £33,000-£36,000. They can be previewed on Barons' stand at Beaulieu on May 16th and 17th. -
RM bags more than £21m at its London sale 11 Sep 2013 (News)
Another big seller from the Laidlaw Collection was the 1965 Porsche 904/6 Carrera GTS, which sold for £1,232,000. The international demand for fine Ferraris continues to generate impressive sales results. A particularly fine road specification 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 perfectly demonstrated the strength of the market by securing £1,646,400, a (yet another) world record price for the model at auction. -

Modern cars will be sent to the appropriate car park and pre-1990 classics will be directed towards the historic RAF Technical Site, Test Circuit and Hangar Aprons. Our parking policy is very relaxed, we encourage people to choose a space they like the look of and go for it! -
1962 E-Type Makes £51,975 at Barons Auction 22 Jun 2010 (News)
A splendid 1962 Series 1 E-Type roadster took the lead at Barons’ sale at Sandown Park on June 15th. The steel blue machine sold for just under £52,000, surpassing its estimate. In second place was a fine 2002 Dax 427 (AC Cobra replica), which achieved £33,650, followed by another Series 1 E-type – this time a 1964 fixed head coupé (£20,130). -

Barons’ busy sale at Sandown Park on March 23rd saw 73% of the cars on offer find new homes. “We had a really varied selection of classics and collectors’ cars from the 1920s up to more recent years, which generated a lot of interest from enthusiasts, and there was a good atmosphere in the room,” said Barons’ MD Laurence Sayers-Gillan. -

Barons' 29 October auction at Sandown Park, Esher has entries from restoration projects, including a 1954 Ford Anglia, to a 2007 Jaguar Sovereign originally supplied to the Royal household. The 1954 Ford Anglia 100E bears a Ford Sidevalve Owners Club badge. -
£250,000 Bentley sells or £38,200 at Barons 6 Aug 2013 (News)
The Bentley was followed by a very fine 1978 Aston Martin V8 Oscar India, which sold for £35,000. One of just 16 examples to feature the ZF five-speed manual transmission, this car had come from the Sir Arnold Clark private collection and is now never likely to be worth less. -
Mazda MX-5 GT On Podium at Donington 12 May 2011 (News)
The Mazda MX-5 GT secured its second podium finish of the race season in the two hour Britcar Production GTN Championship 2011 at Donington Park circuit on Sunday. This puts the Mazda second in its class in the championship. Qualifying on Saturday saw the Mazda Financial Services and Motul backed Mazda MX-5 GT placed eighth in class on the grid. -
RM's multi-million dollar Don Davis sale 30 Apr 2013 (News)
It was the same for the 1967 Toyota 2000GT, we reckoned would have no problem reaching its $650,000-850,000 estimte, but even so, the final price of $1,155,000, was a bit of a shock, no doubt jacked up by a bidding war on the day. Will this see a further push in the values of these fine cars? We'll keep a watching brief. The rest of the million sellers are listed below. Other cars that did well on the day were the 1988 Porsche 959 ‘Komfort’, which sold for $770,000; the 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Mulliner Park Ward Drophead Coupe for $577,500; and a gorgeous 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT Coupe for $550,000 - perhaps these ugly ducklings are about to turn into a very fine swan. -

Half of drivers drive too tired, says Brake 25 Jul 2013 (News)
.” The charity is campaigning to allow drivers who oversleep at motorway service stations to pay for parking retrospectively to avoid a fine, and is calling on the government to provide more stopping areas for drivers to take a break. Brake advises drivers who get tired to stop for a caffeinated drink and have a short nap before moving on or, if they’re on a long journey, it advises that drivers have a longer sleep.
