Audi A3 2.0 tdi (2005) - Recent cambelt change fail - who pays? 6 Jul 2018 (Forum)
For peice of mind I asked for and payed extra to have a new cambelt done and full service carried out. I was very pleased until two weeks ago I was driving home from work and the car stopped. All the symptoms were that the cambelt had gone. My local garage did a quick check and confirmed that the cambelt was loose and had slipped. I rang the original dealer who sold me the car, who in turn asked me to ring the garage he'd had do the work. -

Toyota Yaris - Problems with Yaris bought recently from dealer 24 Feb 2017 (Forum)
They said that the DPF needs regeneration and initially, they were going to charge me £101 as they said it should be covered under toyota warranty. Then they called back an hour later and said that they called toyota and toyota would NOT cover it under the warranty. They said, normally they would charge £475 but if I get it done today by them, it would cost me just £310. -

Finally got Her back behind the wheel! 10 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Apparently an old chap tapped on the window and asked her if she was OK. This was some 3 years ago. The thing is she didn't mind driving the previous car, a Fiat Regata, the car that most people wouldn't be seen dead in! The problem is that all the driving was down to me. With my starting up a business and working on our house, my time was precious enough without having to be the only family taxi as well. -

Their Octavia Estate and one of ours either Berlingo, as above, or my Fabia Estate. A second car seat, Joie i-spin 360, will be carried so that we can do things together or leave one car at either end of a walk etc. -
Lanzarote hire car 29 Jul 2022 (Forum)
I have just returned from a holiday in (or should it be on?) Lanzarote. The hire car was a 1.5 diesel Toyota Proace City, which seems to be a Citroen Berlingo with a different front end and a different steering wheel horn cover. I have to say I hated it at first, especially in its grayish beige colour. -

2003 S Type 2.5 petrol - Occasional water loss 13 Apr 2015 (Forum)
I have had it pressure tested and there are no issues there. I am now thinking that the water pump may be worn and require replacement. The car has covered 100,000 miles . I can drive 100 miles in one hit without issue then the light may come on as I get into urban areas. The car is fine for quite a while then the low coolant light comes on, stop the car for a while, maybe 10 minutes or even half an hour and the water level has returned to normal and the light has gone out. -

The primary requirements are- Good on fuel economy (I hope for +50mpg on a 70mph motorway cruise) Likely to be reliable covering high mileage General Running costs should be affordable BMW hasn't actually been on my list to look at. -
Toyota Prius - Mot Dealer failing headlights 27 Aug 2011 (Forum)
A tip for anyone taking their car in for an mot, should your car have plastic covers as most do these days then over time they may become discoloured due to the plastic oxidising effects of sun weather etc. This was the case when my wife took her Toyota Prius in to her local dealership in Bedford for its annual check up and service, it failed the MOT as the lights were not making the correct pattern on their testing equipment, of course the dealer wanted to fit new headlights at considerable cost, fortunately my wife didn't agree and brought the car home where upon I promptly got some t-cut and spent a few minutes applying with a cloth and a quck buff and they are as good as new again. -
ford focus estate,diesel, 1.8litre, 1999 - Engine will not start 15 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Have checked all fuses, but don't know about relays. Some say there are 2 pumps on this car, electric and mechanicxal, some say it's on the injector pump. Before I decided not to use the car I covered the engine with an old coat, I thought I might have dislodged a wire, but have looked fairly thoroughly and seems all in tact, can you help please? -
Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 96 1.4 timing marks 3 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hi ive just changed my waterpump on my Rover 214si N reg and as far as im aware ive lined all the timing marks up correctly ie:exhauste pully pointing towards inlet pully and locked them in place with locking tool, ive also lined flywheel pully up with the oil pump marking which is about 1 ocklock as you look at the engine in the standing position there are also some other marks on the plastic cover and one of them says TDC my question is to i use the TDC marks to time up my car to run smoothly or is it the oil pump mark i should use to time my car up beacause ive used the oil pump mark and lined both my cams up properly and my car runs erratically ?. -
Porsche Boxster 986 + Boxster S (1996 - 2004) - 02 2.7 Tiptronic Main Oil Seal 24 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Porsche agreed to cover 100% of the part cost and 90% of the labour cost, which I though was generous and was accepted. The car has always been serviced by Porsche main dealer and the last service, April 2009 they reported that the same seal is just started to sweat again. -
Main dealer used car prices 11 Dec 2005 (Forum)
The car had covered around 8K and was in pristine condition, so I thought I would have a look on Autotrader and the Citroen UK site, to see how the price compared with listings on these two sites. I am constantly amazed at the prices being asked for used C5s by Citroen main dealers. -
Young Driver in non fault accident 20 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Someone who works with SWMBO, has recently passed his test, is about 19, has TPFT cover with no uninsured loss recovery, has been involved in a non - fault accident. A bus hit a car behind him, shunted that into him, then he was shunted into another car in front. His car is a write off.
