Is £3000 a good price for a 2005 1.3-litre Peugeot 206 with 17,000 miles?

I may have option to purchase a silver Peugeot 206, 5-door, 2005, 1300cc engine with 17,000 miles on the clock for about £3000. Is this a good price? Mechanic says it's in good order, just done MoT, a small scratch on the side will be fixed and it will be serviced. It does not have air conditioning or alloy wheels. Are there any known problems with that style of Peugot 206 of that year? Will the 1300 be heavier on petrol consumption?

Also, I have a 10-year-old 5-door Peugot 206 1100cc which has had the gearbox replaced a while ago and now there is a problem with the fuel getting to the engine. It judders a lot, but not all the time. Any ideas?

Seems like a reasonable price, but do you need a low mileage car? If you're covering a low mileage, then you might be better to go with something with average mileage (around 50-60,000) that will be cheaper. Otherwise you won't necessarily get the benefit from the premium you're paying. All our information on the 206 can be found here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/peugeot/206-1998
