Issued S172 20 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Hi, I hope i am in the right section. Basically a s172 has been issued for an alleged collision with a parked car causing damage to there wing mirror. It has the approx time, date, and road of the accident, as well as the words careless driving, fail to report a road traffic collision and fail to stop. It is possible I may have hit the car as i have a small dent in mine and the wing mirror cover on mine was missing (since repaired). -

I have owned my LWB 2010 Phaeton for 18mths and covered about 18k in it. It has 75k on the clock. Full VW service history and looks in great condition. I like the purchase price of the car when used as it appears great value. However several expensive repairs later and I want to trade in. -

Do I need to declare a 'notification'? 12 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi, I'm really confused so I hope someone can help me. The other week my car understeered into a field (4AM and foggy/icy). I had to call the breakdown cover that I bought with my insurance to recover the car as its little trip off road buckled a wheel on a rock and has caused an electrical short somewhere meaning the engine wouldn't start and because of where it ended up they had to lift it over a wall to remove it. -
No claim discounts - how do they work? 10 Nov 2011 (Forum)
My current premium is about £450. Assuming no general 'car claim cost inflation', if I were to claim how much is cover likely to cost next year? -

Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - 06 1.25 - warranty help please 22 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I went to an exFord dealership (recently gave up the franchise) and they said the second service re-validates the warranty so the car is still covered until April 09 when it was first registered (3 year warranty). Does anyone know this for a fact? or know where I can check? Its also worth asking the question... is it possible to check a car's service history? -
Nissan Micra (2003 - 2010) - 03 1.0 16 valve K12 - EML on 15 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Hi everyone , i have a problem with my micra its a k12 model 1.0 16v on an 03 plate , it has covered 26k , the car has developed a problem my eml came on and my autodiagnos brought up the problem of a crank shaft position sensor being at fault , i changed the sensor in the gearbox and the cam sensor in the head at the same time and reset the light , all is well with running when the car is warm , but when starting from cold the idle speed raises and drops till the car is driven , the light comes straight back on and the car feels underpowered , the same fault indicating the crank sensor at fault , but if i run the engine till its warm reset the eml and drive its fine can drive as far as i like until , its left over night and started in the morning from cold and the eratic idle starts and the light comes on as i pull off the drive , any help is welcomed , many thanks . -

Peugeot 306 Diesel Head Gasket 6 Jan 2007 (Forum)
They reckon it is the head gasket and quoted around £500. Daughter in a real state as its her first car and cant afford new car or major repairs. Today we ran car engine whilst stationery. Temp seemed OK but heaters not working. Has anybody any idea of anything else it could be apart from head gasket. -
Renault Scenic Belts 14 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Family friend has in the last 3 weeks bought a secondhand Renault Scenic 1.6 from a car supermaket in Devon. Car is a 02 with 70k and came with cambelt change. Car is now with Kings of Taunton ( franchised Renault dealer) who have diagnosed a nylon sprocket( should be metal) with partially stripped teeth and non Renault cambelt as the cause of the ticking noise that was first noticed last Friday. -
Ford Direct Focus problems 17 May 2005 (Forum)
The gearbox gets stuck in neutral and I have to lift and depress the clutch again before I can reselect gears. Whilst both matters are relatively easy to resolve and covered under warrantees, I have a few questions. Is rust of any sort unusual for a car of this age? Do I run the risk of having long-term problems? Should I consider rejecting the car under Ford Direct's 30 day 'no quibble' Exchange plan? -

Parked outside Halfords waiting for eldest son to drag himself away from bicycle dept. when a fancy looking small Pug covered in chrome and alloy bits and pieces pulled up at the side of me and out gets young driver with a bit of a stunner girl friend. I was just about to call after them that he'd left the engine running when he turned round, pointed his key at the car and switched the engine off. -
Buying a Porsche Macan - petrol or diesel? 30 Nov 2016 (Ask HJ)

Larger Estate - Another Petrol v Diesel question! - with specifics 9 Feb 2015 (Forum)
- My driving style is a mixture of conservative and occasionally liking to plant my right foot(if I'm without family or running late for work). I drive at 70-80 on the motorway. - I reckon I cover no more than 6000k miles a year. I'm not sure which fuel the distances I cover are best suited to. I have heard some Petrol, as they are relatively short distances, although I heave heard others say that the diesel engine will run better from cold. -
BMW 3 Series Coupe - Bad Experience Cargiant AA Warranty 20 Jul 2013 (Forum)
But the AA peaple said that these components are not covered and also the labour is not covered so they will not pay. I told them when the Cargiant sold me this product they showed me this leaflet, which I still have, and clearly says the warranty includes Engine, Fuel System, Working Materials, etc. -

Toyota Avensis Verso D4D fades badly 1 May 2010 (Forum)
A mechanic friend told me a small pipe on it that sent a signal (as pressure or vacuum, something to do with the turbo) should be cleaned out after a time. I have suggested to her that she ask if there is something similar on her car. Or that it may be that there is a sensor or electrical actuator that is no longer working properly and the diagnostic check only covers it as regards continuity or lack of, doesn?t check its function.
