Janis Joplin’s Porsche sells for £1.2m 21 Dec 2015 (News)
The singer bought the car from a used car dealer in 1968 . Joplin commissioned friend and roadie Dave Richards to customize it. The result was a psychedelic mural called ‘History of the Universe’ – which made the cabriolet one of the first ‘art cars’. -

The NEC Classic Motor Show enjoyed one of its busiest days on 14 November, with thousands of historic car enthusiasts packing into the show halls to take in the UK’s largest indoor classic car event. The show has already made headlines with the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon confirming its £4 million transformation into the British Motor Museum, but with 2500 classics on display there was plenty more to discover. Techno Classica 2015: Topless Lamborghini Miura is a treat 16 Apr 2015 (News)
A stunning one-off Miura roadster was the big draw on the Lamborghini stand at this year’s Essen classic car show. The one-off Miura was built by Bertone as a show car for the 1968 Brussels motor show. It appeared at several other shows that year, and was then sold. Of course, a few other Miuras have been given the tin-opener treatment, but as far as we know this is the only factory-built soft-top. -
