• Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - 95 1.5 strange electrical problem 19 Jun 2008 (Forum)
  I have a Peugeot 106 that has developed a 'strange electrical problem'. What happens is all the electrics fail but I am still able to start the engine, though sometimes the engine will not stop even with the key out of the ignition.

  Following an abortive installation of a radiator to my 1997 Peugeot 306 D-Turbo [one owner from new] resulting in the bottom hose becoming detached from the radiator, with subsequent loss of coolant [no overheating at this point, stopped immediatly low coolant warning light appeared ] I summoned my recovery/breakdown service, whose operative securely refixed the bottom hose, but failed to bleed the system, resulting in an an 'emergency' stop a few miles down the road, with engine warning 'stop' light illuminated, and engine fan operating.

  Hi folks, For some time my Peugeot 306 was jumping out of 5th gear. Irritating, but a light touch on the gearstick could usually keep it in. Last time I had some work done on it, I mentioned the problem to Mr Mechanic, but he either wasn't able to do anything about it or just didn't look at it.

  Hoping someone can help me out. The engine in question is a xu10j4r as found in the 1999 peugeot 406, 2 litre 16v lump. gearbox is a be3 box as found in a 205 1.9 gti and the flywheel is that from a 405 mi16. Strange combination but all compatible with each other. I have 3 crank sensors available to me, all exactly the same part numbers etc, 1 is from my old car, 1 is from a friends car and 1 is brand spanking new.

  Hi I have an N reg Peugeot 306 which I haven't been using very much due to changing job and being able to walk to work. After the terrible rain at the weekend I tried to turn it over on Monday - dead! My neighbour kindly offered to charge the battery which he did but explained it wasn't holding the charge very well.

  By chance it was due in for a full service & MOT later in the week so hoped that the service would cure it. On the service the peugeot mechanics picked up a leak on the diesel cut off solenoid. They replaced it and everything worked fine for a day. Following day the problems returned. Took it back and they decided that it might be the heater plugs.

  Failure to re-engage cruise control when the memory button is pressed. I have had the car back 3 times now to the local Peugeot garage and it is now going back again. The garage have so far found a poor connection in the steering column wiring loom, replaced the steering column control stalk and now propose to reconfigure the management system components.

  As the frequency of changing the pads etc is costing me a small fortune. I also took my car into peugeot, they were useless and gave the response "all cars brakes squeek ?". There must be something seriously wrong for the amount of wear ?. I have also had brake fluid changed recently to see if that would help .... no affect

  I've been having a few problems with my Peugeot 205 1.4 XS. These started off with a fuelling problem that led me to change the fuel filter, then fuel hoses, then fuel pump, then stripping down the carb and cleaning it and finally fitting a secondhand carb.

  Hi all This is all 3rd hand information so please excuse me if I am a bit vague. My sisters Boyfriend owns a peugeot 106GTI. SOme months ago, 6 to be exact. He suffered a suspected head gasket failure. HE took the car to the local dealer. who did all the neccesary repair work. Skimmed head etc. However when he took delivery of the repaired car there was a tapping sound.
