In contrast, a very smart 74,000 mile 98R C240 Sport auto sold for just £10,350. And an 8,000 mile SLK 3.2 automatic in a nice metallic blue hit the wall at £27,800, £4,700 shy of list. There's no premium SLK 3.2s any more, but it should make a bit more in a Top Car sale. As reported this time last month, the big stuff continues to bomb. -

Barn find Aston to go under the hammer 10 May 2016 (News)
Finished in mink bronze with red Connolly leather interior, the specification included a Motorola radio, Borg Warner automatic gearbox, power-assisted steering, fog and spot lamps, and air conditioning. In regular use up until 1986, it was rolled into the barn with just 30,565 miles on. Essentially complete, it is one of 787 produced. -
Ford unveils Europe-ready Edge SUV 15 Sep 2015 (News)
The Edge will get the same technology as other current Ford models, including Sync 2 infotainment and active safety gadgets. Collision mitigating brakes, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and automatic parking are all on the cards. Final specification details will be announced nearer the on-sale date. Aside from the new Edge, Ford is to introduce a revised Kuga and a revised Ecosport in 2016. -

Most enthusiasts dream of finding a ‘brand new’ unregistered example of their favourite car tucked away somewhere – but for MkI Cortina fans it’s now reality thanks to this 1964 four-door 1500 Deluxe, complete with automatic transmission. On the market via Cambridge Smart Cars, this unrestored Cortina has never been registered for road use and to date has covered just 58 ‘delivery’ miles. Produced in May ’64, the Cortina was delivered to a Ford dealership in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and was purchased by a private customer who never took delivery. -
Rare Mercedes convertible could sell for £250,000 4 Nov 2014 (News)
A rare 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet could fetch up to £250,000 at auction this month. The right-hand drive automatic Merc, one of just 68 made, will go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ NEC classic motor show sale on Saturday, 15 November. Hugely desirable, the soft-top has a 3.5-litre V8 under the bonnet and was the fastest and most expensive Mercedes convertible at the time. -

Fiat 'improves fuel efficiency of 500' 9 Feb 2009 (News)
The manufacturer has revealed customers will be able to choose a version of the vehicle fitted with its Start&Stop system. It explained the technology automatically turns the engine off when the car is stuck in traffic and restarts it again when the motorist is ready to move off. Figures from Fiat showed drivers of the 1.2-litre engine version of the model can expect to make fuel savings of up to 12 per cent, compared with the original edition.
