Hyundai i30 - Retrofit seat height adjuster 11 May 2010 (Forum)
Can anyone advise on the feasibility of retro-fitting the seat height adjuster subframe to the passenger seat? On HUK i30's, cars are fitted with height adjusters (& lumbar) only to the drivers seat, but it would e much better for me if this were also on the passenger side. Sadly the dealers would or could not entertain any special order to include these features for me. -
Worth your weight in salt? Salt & the subrames 27 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Funny how it`s been cherished over thousands of years - although if you were a pre-cow of pre-history it must have been great to have a lick of the salt cake - if your tongue had gone blue due to lack of minerals. -
Mercedes c180 - Merc c180 or Volvo c30 26 Apr 2010 (Forum)
I seem to be able to replace the banger with a nice sports coupe - and am looking at a Merc c180 coupe or Volvo c30. I've seen a few c180's with 20k on the clock for 12k, and its not dissimilar on the c30. I've never had a merc, and have little idea about the running / servicing costs - did once have a smart car and it was expensive. -

Honda Jazz/Fit (2001 - 2008) - Stiff steering 17 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I took a test drive in a same spec vehicle yesterday and found it to be the same! Either both cars have the same fault or JAzz 1.2's have very stiff and heavy steering. I have googled this issue and only found a few references and can't find any references here. Could someone comment about how light/stiff their steering is? Thanks Graham -

So, anyone got any recommenations for the latest econmentalist tyres that might come in 13's? Something that are reasonable in winter would be good too. I bow to your greater knowledge :-) -

Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 02 1.6 Overheating problem 29 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hey... I have a Fiesta Zetec S, It has been overheating for a very long time now! I have had a new themostat, rad & new heater matrix hoses as they split. The heater sometimes blows out cold air, I'll be travelling for 10 mins in the car after not using it all night,...The fan kicks in the temp gauge starts rising towards red, then when going up a hill it will hit the middle & going down it continues to rise! -
Which car companies will be left in 10 years time? 20 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I would suggest we might have : One French company (with Nissan); VAG; KIA/Hyundai; Ford (& Volvo?); Toyota (& Subaru?) and Beijing automotive (who I think will be selling us cheap Roewe 75's and the Saab technologies they have just picked up). I wonder where Opel or its offspring might be? Can BMW continue to be independent? Will Honda stay on its own? Will we have a new company from no where selling us electric vehicles? -
Do 4x4s Alter Cognitive Behaviour ? 18 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I have to say that we had some pretty freezing and snowy conditions last night causing some very dangerous driving conditions on non-major roads. However first thing this morning a saw, in just a couple of miles, 4 or 5 drivers in 4x4's (mixture of Discoveries, Audi Q7 and BMW X5), driving as if it was 25 degrees and hadn't even rained for weeks ! No I dont care a bit if they wrap themselves around a lamp post, but its a different story if they take someone out with their huge hunk of metal by driving like this. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 front brake pad replacement with 5mm left? 13 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Didn't take that at face value and we only do about 5,000miles pa so left it until now; MOT is due soon. I've had a look and the front n/s pad seems to have 5mm left. On that basis our local Ford dealer advises they be replaced now and this will cost £70. Given our low mileage is it still too early to replace them or am I just being tight?! -

Vauxhall Zafira B (2005 - ) - Is three abreast child seat fitment possible 23 Oct 2009 (Forum)
The usual other option, of putting the new born in the front seat, doesn?t seem to be possible, as there?s no means (as far as we can tell) to switch off the passenger airbag. Has anyone managed to seat three abreast in these? If so, what type/make of child seats do you use? Sorry to bring up a well worn topic, but I couldn't find anything specific to this model. -
Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 02 1.6 erratic coolant 17 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I have a 2002 Fiesta Zetec-S and had the thermostat housing changed by a mechanic (mate of a mate) because of a coolant leak and I had no previous temperature issues. The temperature seems to be going up and down like a yo-yo. -
Credit Card Fraud - again. 1 Aug 2009 (Forum)
My CC has been hit for three fraudulant transactions in very rapid order in the USA. My CC co identified it, contacted me 09:00 the next morning a credited all ££s back instantly. The transaction were not for large sums. I am trying to work out where / when the cloning originated. I do not use the card online. I visited a major supermarket and three hours later @ 00:00 hours the USA transactions occurred. -

Your new (elderly) Battery 27 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Now that last one looked years younger than some of the other dirty stained jobs waiting to be bought as `new` Maybe this is one reason batteries other than the original seem not to last as long these days (unless the original sat in a field drained flat for 6 months - then jump started and out with the car as new.) Wonder if anyone anyone has ever replaced their battery only to have fitted an older one...It`s GOT to have happened somewhere, at sometime hasn`t it? -
Jaguar X-Type (2001 - 2009) - What tyres can I use? 22 May 2009 (Forum)
What tyres can I put on the rear of my Jaguar Xtype 2.0D? I spoke to the Jag garage and they said I can only put Pirelli 6000J ' s on which are only suitable for Jaguar (they have a J in the code specfic to this model). I then spoke to the local ATS and they said they can put Dunlop All Seasons on (£175 for 2 fitted). Can anyone advise what I can put on and also a good price to pay? -
new vosa powers 19 May 2009 (Forum)
Talking to my inside informant at vosa this week and he was telling me about the new powers vosa were given from the beginning of this month in relation to hgv"s, these consist of fixed penalty fines and points up to a maximum fine of 900 pounds, above this and it has to go to court Vosa are also allowed to make a british driving licence up for any foreign driver who obviously doesnt hold such a thing and vosa have access to full back up of fingerprint technology and all the facilities that the police use to confirm whether the driver they now stop should be driving if hes been caught before.
