  Ford, meanwhile, showcased its advances in safety technology at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with the concept S-Max MPV featuring seat-mounted sensors capable of monitoring heart rate. The S-Max concept could theoretically bring itself to a stop in the event of the driver having a heart attack. A Ford spokesperson told us that the heart monitoring technology will not make it into the first production versions of the new S-Max, due to be shown at next month’s Paris Motor Show, but didn’t rule out its inclusion in future Fords.

  Silverstone Auctions invites entries for its sale at the Footman James Classic Motor Show at the NEC on 16th to 18th November. An early entry is an original 1968 Morris Mini Cooper S ex-police traffic car, estimated at £18,000 to £22,000, one of just eight road-worthy examples of police Cooper S models. The season ending Footman James Classic Motor Show and the neighbouring Classic Motorbike Show has become a ‘must-attend’ event for anyone harbouring a passion for cars and bikes, attracting around 50,000 owners and enthusiasts.

  Ghostbusters Ambulance in September Classic Auction 2 Sep 2010 (News)
  A 1959 Cadillac S&S ambulance rescued from a Church in Maryland, USA, after being read its last rights, has undergone a miraculous restoration as a tribute to the iconic Ghostbusters movie car, and is now being auctioned at Historics at Brooklands forthcoming sale on 25 th September.

  Golf Plus arrives in showrooms 2 Apr 2009 (News)
  Customers can choose between two petrol engines and two diesel units, as well as a variety of transmission options. Volkswagen is also offering two trim levels - S and SE. The company stated it kept choices in this area to a minimum to keep it simple for buyers.   Goodwood Festival site for Jaguar XK birthday bash 9 Jul 2008 (News)
  British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar is to celebrate 60 years of its XK nameplate at this summer's Goodwood Festival of Speed. At the show will be the XKR-S - the fastest production model the company has ever produced - fitted with a 4.2-litre V8 engine. The NUB 120, which is also known as the XK 120, will also be at the event. Owned by Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons' daughter Patricia, the vehicle is known for its prowess on rally tracks in the 1950s.
