AA 'BuyaCar' site 24 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Selected the manufacturers list, and attempted to scroll to Honda, only to find that 'what you see is what you get..' The only manufacturers supported are: BMW, Fiat, Ford, M-B, Peugeot, Renault, Rover, Vauxhall and VW. -no Honda. (or any other make) Seems a bit limited to me. Can anyone recommend a good site for low mileage secondhand vehicles, from personal experience? Many thanks, Peter. -
Buying British 7 Feb 2002 (Forum)
....Cars: Although many of the UK Government's ministerial cars are made overseas* - Ford Mondeos, for instance, are made in Belgium - the following cars are assembled in UK plants: Ford Fiesta; Honda Civic and Accord; Nissan Micra, Primera, and Almera; Peugeot 206; Toyota Corolla and Avensis; Vauxhall Astra; all Jaguar, Land Rover, MG and Rolls Royce/Bentley models; and some Vectras........................... from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/newsid_1804000/1804161.stm * perhaps they want to export the environmental damage from new car production? -

Peugeot Partner went in for service & MOT 2 weeks ago. 10yr service. Service done, failed MOT as expected, needed a spring doing. Husband asked for timing belt doing as it's 10. Then we got a call to say it wouldn't start. -
60 years of local car sales 20 Dec 2021 (Forum)
Did not last long, he was jailed for killing someone near the showroom whilst driving under the influence. FSO disappeared early in the 80’s, Lada hung on, nothing changed at Ford and Peugeot (other than the buildings slowly decaying). 90’s came and more change. Peugeot dealer changed to Honda and moved to newer premises. Renault closed and they sold Japanese imports for a while. -

I know no one can diagnose a problem properly but just hoping for some ideas as to what the problem maybe. So here are the symptoms I seem to have been getting. -
Peugeot 206 - turbo failure 15 Jun 2010 (Forum)
My car is a Peugeot 206 HDI 1.6 3 door diesel (PG05 AKO). I have owned the car for 4 years; it has 76,000 miles on the clock and has been regularly serviced, by Perry’s of Nelson. I have recently had several failures of the turbo system. -
To buy or not to buy (non structural write off) 22 Feb 2021 (Forum)
So, looking at a 2015 Peugeot 308SW, cat N about £2½k below market. I have little info yet about the car, but I'm thinking that the damage on a car about 3 years old (don't really know *when* it happened) must have been quite major to be a write off? -

6'6" son size 13 boots 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
My lad is 6’6”, wears size 13 shoes, is rapidly approaching his 17th birthday and is keen to start driving. Unfortunately he doesn’t fit into a Peugeot 106 (my first thought). He fits very well into a VW Fox (he can put his knees together under the steering wheel) but the Fox seem overpriced s/h. So can anyone suggest any other low insurance group cars to try him in please? -
Toyota Prius III (2009 - ) - Engine longevity 26 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I am thinking of changing my Peugeot 307 for a Prius as most of my driving is at low spees around the outskirts of London with occasional (approx monthly) squirts down the M4 or M3 to Wales or SW England. My only real concern is that HJ continually tells people not to turn the engine on for very short periods as this reduces considerably the engines longevity. -
At least 20 - 25 percent off new 5 Mar 2009 (Forum)
They had Quentin Wilson on and he went through several deals he had found - a 23K Citroen for 16K, a Peugeot and one of those VW Eco cars which is 14K list apparently but he found one from a dealer for about 10K. Anyhow, he concluded that you should be aiming to get at least 20 to 25 percent off the price of any new car in a dealer at the current time! -
Ford 1.6tdci vs 1.8tdci 4 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Ive driven the 1.8 and found it a bit rough. Apparenty the 1.6 is the PSA unit which if its the same one then a friend has one in his Peugeot 308 and it seems very refined. Also ive noticed that the 1.6 tdci's are generally more expensive. A lot of the car supermarket websites dont have the 1.6. I guess they are all ex rentals. Is the 1.8 an old engine ready to be replaced? -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - Fitting external music source to a Ford CD Changer 3 Dec 2007 (Forum)
I want to fit a harman kardon ipod connection and it looks like it can be done by fitting it to the CD Changer output socket. Thanks slt and moved over from Discussion otherwise it'll be "you should have bought a Peugeot/BMW/Renault" rather than the help you need ! :-) -
Supermini - which one? 30 Oct 2007 (Forum)
I want something reliable, slightly sexy looking and fun to drive. Have a budget of around 8 - 9k. Like the look of the Renault Clio and the Peugeot 207 but have heard nightmare stories regarding French reliability. Is this true? What about Fiat? Have been advised to stick to a Yaris or something but not sure how inspiring they are to drive. Any advice? -

Focus on corrosion 21 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I have just discovered corrosion bubbling up all along the inside seam at the bottom of three of four doors of our seven year old Focus Estate - usually well cleaned and kept in a garage. There is no such corrosion on either of the brace of Peugeot 309s belonging to my sons, both of which live outside, are more than twice as old, hardly ever cleaned and have done more than twice the mileage. Is this a known problem just affecting Focuses [Foci?] -
Smokey 1997 406 1.9td 14 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Hi, i am the owner of a rather smokey 1997 Peugeot 406 1.9td. I have owned the car for two and a half years now, but in the last few months it has become quite smokey. The car uses no oil and runs fine so it cant be a worn out engine. (engine has covered 150k) and no lights have come up on the dash to say there is a problem with the injector pump. -
Rover 400 - 1.6i consumption 12 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me if this is perfectly normal and put my mind at rest? I think this is hell of a lot, but conpared to my last car (peugeot 106 1.1) it's probably not bad, but I still work it out to be around 26mpg. Thanks in advance for any advice offered. -
Which one? 13 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Mar 06 BMW 320 M sport touring, leather interior, 7000m, BMW main dealer £21850 (assume there will be some movement on the price-no p/x-any suggestions on how much is likely) 2. Brand new Peugeot 407 2.2se Coupe, main dealer supplied £16500 My main aim is to minimise depreciation when the time comes to sell in around three years. (I do around 10k miles/year) Two very different cars, but I like them both. -
'Tappety' TDI 15 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Weird thing is, with the windows open it sounds OK, but with them closed and nothing on you can really hear that typical valve train noise (I don't know if it is VT related, it's just the closest noise match) I believe it has hydraulic valve lifters (Is that the right term?) Had the timing belt done a while back but I remember from my Peugeot days that something TB related can also make a noise like this... Any ideas?
