• Renault Megane - Incorrect dashboard speed limit display 7 Dec 2018 (Forum)
  I'm driving around this week in a hired Renault Megane. It's better than expected, but I don't know how they've managed to make the (very large) speed limit display on the dashboard so innaccurate. So far, it has: 1) Told me on multiple occasions that I'm in a 50mph limit when the speed limit is 30mph 2) Told me several speed limits are 30mph despite them actually being either 40 or 50 3) Tells me that the speed limit on a NSL single carriageway local to me is 40, when I know it's not been anything but NSL for at least ten years and is well signposted.

  It's the right size car with a good boot and plenty of space in the back. Is this model reliable. Any reason not to buy it. The laternative we saw was a Renault Scenic 1.4 16v Dynamique 5dr with 80000 for £2000 which was a biy smaller and not in the best condition..they haf a citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6 i 16v VTX 5dr with 60000 miles for £2000- which we didn't test drive.

  Citroen replaced the glow plugs and the EGR valve (see paperwork) but the problem remains'. The car is due back in with Renault next week, and my warranty doesn't cover diagnostics! They say they have been on Renault Net, but this fault isn't a known problem. This is a potentially dangerous fault and we now avoid overtaking anything unless there is a huge safety margin.

  I have a 2011 Renault Scenic 1.5 tdi with 87,000 miles on the clock.  The cam belt is due and I've been warned it may well need the water pump doing at the same time, the garage estimate that it will be £750ish (inc servicing).
• Renault Kangoo diesel 59 plate - Car vibrates following oil change!!!! 25 Feb 2013 (Forum)
  Previously trouble free Kangoo now vibrates through steering wheel/seat and pedal following oil change at 42k.( the service countdown on the dash indicated a symbol that looks like a container with a droplet over it, which i was advised indicated that the engine detected that the oil needed changed despite being 4k miles short of next service interval)  Subtle change but enough for me to notice and on longer journeys can result in "pins and needles" and nausea.  Unfortunately the main Renault garage sevice manager where the car is serviced doesnt think there is a problem following a 5 minute road test and diagnostic engine test.  The vibration is immediately apparent to me when starting up, so think he was just humouring me by testing the engine as he could not detect what i feel on starting, and is certainly not feeling "shaken" up afte only a 5 minute journey.

  Hi my name is Kenny . I have a renault scenic 1.9dci and recently it has developed a fault which is as follows - After start up first thing in the morning, the car is very sluggish as it accelerates thru the gears (virtually no pulling power for a 120bhp engine) when it reaches 2500 revs in either 3rd or 4th, a warning light will appear on the dash "CHECK INJECTORS".

  I brought a 10 year old car 3 months ago and have just had it MOT'd.  Been told there was a fault with the ABS light needed to invesitgated.  I paid Renault £95.94 for the testing and they have said that someone has removed the instrument cluster and messed about behind it and the instrument cluster  needs to be replaced at a cost of £389.57.

  I bought a 2002 Renault Vel Satis 3.0ltr DCi in January and all seemed ok until I drove a long distance in the car last month. After about 40 miles, the temperature gauge shot up to maximum and I was told to STOP THE CAR.

  Wish I'd done a bit more research (eg Googled "Espace problems") before buying 2005 2.2dci from a crook last November but.... Already been through the usual cracked inlet manifold at 70k miles - fixed by Renault France - and all has been fine for 12k since then and I do like the car. Now couple of dashboard issues I'm hoping you guys might be able to help with: The car lives in the Alps during the winter and when it is very cold (less than -6 degrees say) both ESP and ABS lights are illuminated on starting - which is a bit disconcerting on icy roads!

  Its getting rid of it fast under load (ie MWay driving) but not from anywhere else, just the filler cap. its on tight and im assured its not faulty. Renault garage (and im in cz rep on hols so its all going through the wife as translator.....) cannot find a fault yet as its not actually leaking from anywhere when cold but they seem rather keen to change the cylinder head etc.

  hi all. i have a renault clio, cambelt snapped, bent 2 valves, done all and refit all, all worked fine until i noticed the directional arrows on the cambelt were going the wrong way upon engine running! so i opted to remove cambelt and put back on correct way, wish i never!

  It may be me but the last few weeks it does seem to have been turning over slightly longer before it fires up. When I bought the car about 3000 miles ago it had a stamp in the book from a non-Renault Dealer, I changed the oil anyway and have also changed all the glow plugs. It did this once before about 2 months ago but it was facing up a very steep hill and it rained like a monsoon that night so shrugged it off Would cleaning the EGR valve have any benefit (I know I should have done this anyway /slaps wrist!)

  Hi all Migrated from Citroen Xantia to a Renault Laguna. Its a piece of junk but for some reason I actually rather like it. With winter closing in I'd like to get the heater fan going. Zero response when you twist the fan. I've read enough on the forum to find out when the fan motor is, and I've ripped it out to test (its by the PC as I type).
