  I have a Audi A3 1.6 2010 petrol With 95000 miles. The car struggles to get over over 4000RPM. Along side this, in low revs I can put my foot to the floor and it doesn’t go anywhere, especially and most commonly in second gear.

   I had a Jaguar XF in 2010 from new and to date it was the best car I have driven. I'm looking at Audi A8 / A6 saloons and for £25k you can buy a fairly new car (2 years old) in 3.0L diesel guise with less than 30,000 miles - main dealer prices.  Am I mad? I do around 15,000 miles a year, so just about diesel territory - my journies tend to be no less than 50 miles each way.

  I may be wrong but I think Gordonbennet and Bromptonaut live in that general area, so they or others may be able to help. On Audis, I do like them a lot; my nom de clavier comes from the A4 Avant 2.5 TDI that I had when I first joined the forum in 2004.  But I find it a little difficult to justify the extra cost of an Audi over an identically powered Skoda: £1,000 or £2,000 perhaps but the difference is quite a bit more than that.

  I have an Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDi Auto 59,000 miles in great general condition and recently serviced. For some time I have been worried as the car will not go up anything remotely resembling a gradient. It will drive very well, quietly and at high speeds on a flat motorway.

  Car is fine from start up until reach 67-68 mph then lose all power. power is not regained until have switch engine off and then on again. power loss is everytime hit that mph, if keep under that mph from startup the car has all the power available all of the time. Car is a 2004 audi a4 1.9tdi. this is the one which the seperate grilles not the big one piece grille of the later cars. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.   between the skate-like BMW and the four poster Merc. However, I?ve read nasty reports about the longevity of the Multitronic auto box. I know Audi claim to have beefed it up recently (not before time) and it?s too early to tell if that has improved the reliability. It would be useful to hear the full story of this upgrade if anyone knows it.

  Took a visit to the local Audi dealer today to see the new cabrio. No idea what it drives like, but it looks quite smart, very quick roof (but only on the top two models), has plenty of room for two adults in the back seats and has a good sized boot, roof up or down, alloys on Sport model are pleasing to the eye.

  This happens before you would expect it as I'm sure it's not near the top revs for the gear. This is most apparent if just started and going up a hill. Local audi dealers looked at the air mass meter but then decided it might be the turbo. That was 6 months ago and it hasn't got any worse - just annoying. The dealer i bought it from said they thought the car had been chipped to bring it to 130bhp but had no proof and i have no way of knowing - it certainly doesn't feel like 130 bhp.
